Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

There's a great example on myspace dot com /anonjessymous. They're all hardcore goth.

Are you asking about goth style in general or how each of us dresses? In the latter case, there's already a thread for that.

Yeah, but that's more of a "what are you wearing" thread, and many people don't dress full on goth everyday (or they're on the computer in their pajamas, haha).
I think mindless1 is looking more for ideas she might want to try, is that right? It's hard to get any true information on dressing goth because one extreme is to say, just be yourself and the other extreme is if you're not in all black and scaring small children, you're not trying hard enough.
Here's what I wear: usually a skirt with a skull motif or tattoo designs, mostly in black but I have one in pink also. I have 4 or 5 of these skirts. Then a white or black wifebeater, black or burgundy hoodie, knee socks, and black Doc Martens or black mary janes. I often wear a black rosary; black, plum or gray eye makeup, burgundy or a deep deep plum lipstick, earrings are a cross or skull design. My hair was reddish burgundy but now it's growing out so it's kind of tricolored in layers. I will probably redye it soon, but I'm kinda liking the tricolored look too.

thankyou, yes I am looking for ideas of my own and I was wondering what each person's individual style was. But if there's already a thread for that i'll go there.

Damn you're pretty boy!
Someday when I am retired and don't give a fuck about my employer I am going to look just like you. Every day. (sigh) Someday.

my close friends who know me well say that I dress the part but don't act the part. I mean, how am I supposed to act? I love this fashion so I just wear what is cool+comfortable
anyways. I wear a lot of stuff I made/altered. I have this really cool black longsleeve shirt that I cut across all the way down the back and arms. I'm wearing it right now with a bright green tank underneath. The green shows through. :]

I've had people I don't know ask me if I'm "goth", or tell me I look "mystical" (??) and I guess it's because I have black hair, put my makeup on a certain way, and wear a skull bracelet...

I love the beauty of the 50's.
For me my main things are my bangs which always have to be a sertain length and look like I ripped Bettie Page off. My eyebrows which are thin as hell, drawn on and shaped like an arch, and my bright red lipstick that never comes off. The clothes are kind of what comes naturally, the rest is just attitude.

I had someone ask if I was "a gothic" the other day, it was hilarious the way he said it. I didn't think people would actually say "a gothic", and once a little girl asked me if I was a witch.

I've been told by my friends that I'm a fashion schizophrenic. I always wear retro/ vintage styles, but can be found wearing anything from medieval ages styled clothes to cybergoth/ metal styles of today. Preferably in a way that makes the heads of those that see me every day spin with confusion (think fully Victorian one day and plastic fantastic & spikes the next, to be followed by a fully fledged 1968 flower power- ish outfit or a typical deathrock style with a hawk...). I prefer to make my own clothes whenever possible, and am quite obsessive about altering the rest.

We're talking about gothic looks, not mallgoth looks.
