Lightbulb Modern etiquette

Etiquette manuals from bygone eras and foreign countries are readily available just about everywhere, but what about modern etiquette? Especially in the goth scene, it's difficult to gauge. Do you text back right away, or wait a day or two? How late is it acceptable to show up? Things you must do? Things you must not do?

Basically, since there really is no manual for goth social etiquette, let's write one.

There is no such thing as gothic social etiquette as the Goth subculture is about music.

Not another one of these threads. We need to employ someone to hunt down the culprit thread starters and slay them in the most heinous ways conceivable. I would gladly pay for someone to take on this most noble and glorious quest.

Edit: Op, Fuck off.

Damn the first sentence was actually a decent point, the only real modern western etiquette that is taught seems to be business etiquette, which doesn't apply to many parts of daily life, and even when it applies it is quite frequently overlooked. Then the op had to go and throw "goth" in there *sigh* sometimes I fucking hate people.

Write your useless book somewhere else, there already enough of them available that no body reads now. Examples:

Emily Post's Etiquette, 17th Edition (Thumb Indexed) (Hardcover)
Etiquette For Dummies (For Dummies (Psychology & Self Help)) (Paperback)
The Little Book Of Etiquette (Miniature Editions) (Hardcover)
Freakin' Fabulous: How to Dress, Speak, Behave, Eat, Drink, Entertain, Decorate, and Generally Be Better than Everyone Else (Hardcover)

Even though these testaments to people's ability to ignore common sense exist despite my disbelief, there is no evidence whatsoever that there needs to be a special gothic edition, any more than there needs to be a gothic workout video or a gothic first aid kit.

However, if you really feel a pressing need, I would personally recommend for you: 365 Manners Kids Should Know: Games, Activities, and Other Fun Ways to Help Children Learn Etiquette (Paperback).

You might try reading this yourself. Last I checked, snapping one someone who was just raising a point of interest was terrible etiquette. Thanks for the resources, though.

And the rest of you, while civil in other threads have turned inexplicably twat-tastic. I don't take issue with the things that were said, as they are perfectly valid. I do, however, take issue with how they were said. And, lest I'm mistaken, I think I saw some sort of barbaric death threat involving alcohol as payment. Really? How absolutely primitive.

Finally, I admit that a forum search would have been prudent. Mea culpa.

I stand by my statement. You raised not a point of interest, but a point YOU were interested in but did not consider much before you posted it. The harshest adjective in my post was "useless", which referred to your query, not you. Your reply in return used the word "twat-tastic", so that proves to me that my last link recommendation was appropriate for you.

Does anyone find it hilarious that the OP has a "fap" demotivational poster as her avatar and she won't shut up about etiquette?

Notice I make no effort to tell Lakita that she needs to read an etiquette book, nor do I think it's my place to do so.

But damn, she sho' is funny at times!

Never wank off to pop idols, causes damage to the mental state that can never be fixed. Anyway, where did you find that pic? In her profile?
