Dave Mustaine formed Megadeth in 1983 after being fired from Metallica (formed in 1981 by Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield) due to his alcaholism and then allleged unpredictable behaviour. He was replaced by Kirk Hammet who was originally from Exodus (another awesome band), and the rest they say is history !!!.
