Just came back from East Village and got myself a cheap, but tasty falafel.

I also met the store owner of Trash & Vaudville. He was such a darling.

I want to eat something that's horrible for me. Eating only veggies, fruits, and juice for the past 4 days is starting to get to me. Especially when my coworkers are bringing things like pizza and sonic to work....

In the later years of his life, Pierre-Auguste Renoir continued to paint even though he had crippling rheumatoid arthritis and developed progressive deformities in his hands and ankylosis of his right shoulder, requiring him to adapt his painting technique. His friend Henri Matisse asked him, "Why torture yourself?"

Renoir replied, "The pain passes, but beauty endures."

***

On the day he died, he also said, "I think I'm beginning to know something about painting."

Pfft, anorexia is SO last year.

I keep getting emails from Spark People (I joined because I wanted to make sure I'm getting enough calories, I haven't been feeling well due to stress and I'm worried I'm not eating enough) about insomnia because when you join it asks what other problems you have. Anyway, so its 3am and so far since midnight I got three emails from them about Insomnia. Do they know that I'm up and are lecturing me or do they think that by keeping me up by giving me reading material they'll keep me hooked in the site?

It's the 71st anniversary of the film The Wizard of Oz. It's being celebrated today by Google's doodle. I have several copies of it, including the recently released remastered Blu-Ray edition.

But what's made me very happy is to learn that the Alamo Drafthouse Theater here in Houston (the Mason Road location) is showing the film on the big screen on August 27.

You couldn't possibly keep me out of that theater that night. Man, I am so stoked!

Let me tell you how it all works out
I never thought we had so much time to lose
Just learning how to twist and shout
Doesn't matter much which damn beat you use

Because I gained about 10 lbs since I started my desk job...and haven't worked out, and haven't stopped eating pizza. I have to either quit my job, or get healthy...if I want to get back into my old jeans.

Aw, I'd love to see it on the big screen. Can I come along? I'll bring the popcorn?

I was hanging in my tree tonight when the crow sitting next to me said "Fuuuuuuuuucccccccckkkkkkkkk"
