Awesome Cemeteries
Back in May, my girlfriend introduced me to the Mount Auburn Cemetery, in Cambridge Massachusetts.
This cemetery is positively huge, spanning 175 acres, and expertly landscaped. We could only see so much of it in one day. Tonya was kind enough to lend me her camera so I could take a few shots of the grounds and the view of Boston's skyline from the Washington Tower.

Do you have any cool places to share?

That's one pretty cemetery.
Cemetery in Hong Kong. (Sorry for the crappy photo.) In the middle of a modern city is something that looks so old - well that's what got me about it, and the way the graves all have to face the one way (forget the reasons now).

There used to be this awesome one in the town I used to live in http://www.aca.sa.gov.au/Ourcemeteri...toGallery.aspx
The photos don't do it justice. It's one of the oldest Cemeteries in the state and I used to look at it everyday as I rode the bus to work. It is beautiful and old and steeped in history. I love cemeteries. They are so peaceful and restful places.
Oh and as a side. I love the Angel of Grief monuments.

I have many, many photos of cemeteries from Hawaii to Massachusetts and in between, far too many to share here, but below are a taste, and yes, that is me standing in some of them:

Cool pix, guys. I know this sounds weird, but I really don't like being in cemeteries. I took some photos a few years ago in one of the older cemeteries in Galveston, but someone deleted my pix before I could get them printed. Some of the gravestones were intricate and a lot of them were women, for some reason. I spent most of my time there straightening flowers and dusting dirt off of graves.

I think one day you should take those photos again and post them, they sound like interesting photos !!!.
There is an interesting monument in one of the places I went and took some pics recently where it is a large palm tree and anchour, I`ll see if I can dig it out and send it to you !!!.

My dad took me up to Rochester, New York on one of his installs. There's a Victorian cemetery right next to the university. I didn't get to spend a lot of time there, but if I can find the pics on my old laptop, I'll post 'em up.

Old Saint Joseph's Cemetery
This place used to be awesome. It's about a mile outside of town on a small dirt road where an old Spanish Missionary used to sit.
The entire graveyard used to be surrounded by massive old oak trees so even during the middle of the day it was always dark and gloomy. It was surrounded by an old ass rusted wrought iron fence. Some graves date back to the 1800s.
Now as you can tell by those photos it looks like shit.

Okay, I found this one. From 2009, I think. Mt. Hope cemetery, Rochester, NY.
Looks incredible in the winter.

Why isn't there a "dark places" or "creepy locales" board on here? I haven't even dug out my New Orleans cemetery pics yet.

I'm not really into graveyards but holy crap Spooky those photos are absolutely breathtaking. You are so lucky to live where there is a decent amount of snowfall each year, all I get is dying grass.

Me? Oh noooooo...! I live in southern Alabama.
That first shot was local. The other three I was just visiting. I'm not big on freezing temperature... makes me sluggish.
I've been begging the moderator to open a board for "Creepy Places." You should see the ones I have of little Gracie from the Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia and the Voodoo Queen's crypt from New Orleans.
Are you listening, powers that be...? Make me a board worthy of my work!

I second Vin on the snow hatred! Pretty to look at, hell to be in.
