Ooooo. Isacc Asimov, forgot about him. Only read I, Robot. Before the movie though, so it isn't as pathetic as it sounds.

I have Isaac Asimov's autograph and of course the entire Foundation and the Robot series.

Hi man, not bad, but not doing anything magnanimously great, just trying to stay alive like any Juarenze and trying to publish a new interpretation of one sentence by one dead guy like any philosophy major.

Jilly. Don't toy with me. I must have an answer.

Yo Jilly, how come Romeo & Juliet is your favorite Shakespeare?

this is a genuine question and is DEFINITELY NOT a cheesy way to steer the conversation onto the nature of love via literary romance, so that we can have a conversation fraught with a thousand different meanings, each emerging shyly from a different corner of the heart to turn its face to this... LIGHT between us. Like a sunflower opening itself up to the sky.

No no, Macbeth is my favorite Shakespeare play.
I was mocking Macbeth because you must have seen that it is true that Macbeth is still the cliché Shakespeare favorite of people who know just enough about Shakespeare to go beyond Romeo and Juliet but not enough to go beyond, say, Othello.
Macbeth is the Romeo and Juliet for those whose high school English Lit teacher went a little further in detail with Shakespeare.
I still love Macbeth, though.

Is it the part where they kill the king that pumps you up? But... he's a GOOD king and his death and the rise of the common man is seen as a huge fall from grace. I'd have thought it would've offended your political sensibilities.

It's cool that you're not ready to talk about the other thing yet. I will wait for you.

Poe is overrated and I believe dead, hence his Goth appeal.

I have nothing against people's love of Poe though I personally probably read more Non-Fiction than Fiction.

My favorite author is rebellious to a fault, half the time doesn't get anything done, is always trying to be an editor and hates the idea of anyone else doing it.. needs a six pack of beer, has some ground turkey in the fridge that's probably thawed out by now, and doesn't like mathematics.

For poetry I prefer Baudelaire with Fleurs du mal. Poe is an icon of dark dreams.
