For those with multiple tattoos..

I've had work done on me from about 6 different artists though the girl that has done my last several pieces is probably going to be the only one that I go to for a while. While I completely understand being a loyal client to a good artist I also understand that different artists have different specialities and styles and sometimes there might be a better artist out there to take on a particular project.

So, do you prefer to keep getting inked by the same person or do you like checking out other shops and getting work done by a variety of artists?

I'm confused as to whether you mean different artists for different tattoos or different artists working on the same tattoo.

Different

Different artists. I agree completely with what you said about different artists having different specialties. I have one shop that I've gone to for my two simple tatts and I'm still looking for someone to do my really complex idea. Being loyal is nice, sure, but you're the one stuck with the art for life so go to the best person for the job.

I would say if it's possible, have a specialist or each style you want on you. Different artists have different strengths.

My tattoo artist is the specialist in realism in Canada... and since I like mostly Victorian-esque pieces he is my man.
