I LOVE the metropolis purse! That is an excellent movie, and your designs are WONDERFUl... also, conradulations for being one of the few n00bs that finds that "shill" section before clogging other sections with thier wares.

Thanks! XNG was nice enough to point show it to me. It's nice to have a place to show off.

latest project

She just suggested some colors and I did the rest. My customer's a whiskey drinkin' Irish girl that's fiesty, loves Siouxsie, and the 80's. I think I really captured her in this purse. It was a difficult design, took me two days! I'm pleased with the results.

I usually start at $80, depending on the difficulty level. This one would be $100.
(I sort of price it by the hour and add $10 for materials) I set very high standards as far as quality is concerned. These purses are built with skill and integrity. I've been sewing since the early age of eight. I think these ppurses are prices resonabley, when you consider the quality.
I know every one can't afford a $100 purse, so I'm working on some simpler designs to go into my catalog that will start at $35. A few weeks ago I went crazy on my *********** and had a clearance sell on a few purses...the prices were between $12-$45.

Talking

I got a really interresting custom request over the weekend. It will have a Catholic theme, with a post mortem image of St. Bernadette. I will be posting it here when it's complete! It's going to be so pretty! What image should she choose?

Also, I am going to be making Art Dolls in the near future. I am gathering supplies and ideas. I should have my first one completed by March 2006.
I have so many ideas...I wish there was two of me so I could get it all done faster.

I actually went to a Primary School called "St Bernadette's".

When I was a lot younger, I used to admire St Bernadette as a person.

Those pictures look different from the ones I've seen. Then again, like Jesus and Mary, there's always seem to be different interpretations of how they look like.

It kindof reminds me of coffin lining...which works, 'cuz the photo is of a dead nun in a coffin! SPOOOKY! It also has faux fur down the sides and base. It's huge!

Is the necklace actually stuck onto the purse?

I read her story...poor girl, she was sort of picked on. I think it was because others were envious of her beauty.

Yes, it's sewn on to the actual purse. I am thinking I'd like to do this to the back of a jacket...with a different image perhaps. I hate that I used my own rosary for this purse...it's really an antique, but I thought a new one would look cheap. I guess I need a new rosary for Christmas.

I love that "coffin lining" fabric you are using on it! St. Bernadette is such an interesting story... I think it's really nifty that you are using your own rosary, really adds the personal touch.

I also really like the first purse you posted. I almost want to see it as a skirt... just with out the skull. Not sure how that would look. I just love the look.

I put this image together today, this is going on my next purse design.
It looks like what my dolls will look like. I'm really excited to get those finished.

Well, I still need to sew on the shoulder strap, but I just couldn't wait to show it off.
