Hair is there so there is fluff while having sex? Well there's more sex than just intercourse, and hair is just not helpful for that. That part, either tells me she's grasping the tiniest straws to try to make her point, or a liberating as she claims to be she knows nothing about sex.

I think she meant that you don't get to pick the parts of a partner that you want. She liked having hair, it was her husband that wanted her to shave and she shouldn't have to shave just because he wanted her to do so.

I have no issue with guys who don't like hair but I do have issues with guys who want me to do something that I dislike to my body and don't accept that it is something I'm not willing to change.

I agree with Jill about the body hair. I like the feeling of being shaved. I don't like having excess body hair, it makes me feel gross. There have been men that I was with who decided to start shaving while with me and it had nothing to do with 'forcing' or coercing them into anything. There is more to feel when the hair there is gone. The sensitivity is heightened. They were curious, I encouraged them, we both benefited.

It pisses me off that rather than people who don't like to shave just saying it's not for them, they liken it to looking like a child. Fucktards. A shaved adult looks much different from a child. Find a different excuse to not shave.

I don't think its any coincidence that youth is valued and women are expected to have no hair. And no pores.

Personally, I think shaving and then having that shadow and razor burns is grosser than having soft pubic hair. I used to shave and hated the look, reminded me of plucked chicken flesh. Plus it felt more dirty without hair, since I was pretty much wet all the time, panties were a ugly sight. I also badly resent the idea that hair is somehow dirty when it absolutely has a function. Its a deal breaker to tell me what to do with my body.

I agree that it is silly to say that being shaved makes you look like a child but I also agree with Saya that the lack of hair (among other things) being considered beautiful are, at least in part, due to cultural obsession about being young, not because children are considered attractive but because as we grow older we tend to have more noticeable body hair.

My summary/impressions of the opinions y'all got from textbooks;

You wear rose tinted glasses through which you see a world in which women would only ever give free and willing consent to a sexual act if they were forced. You throw out some ill-concieved loophole line about exceptions, (like did anybody notice how Alan thought unforced prostitution was totally cool and Versus decided it was a Utopia, then someone posted a story about how a girl they know got ***** and knocked the fuck out and nobody batted an eyelid?), but at the end of the day you're turning away from some potentially disturbing truths.

It's like someone asks you "what do you think of contract killers" and you start yelling "THEY ARE ALL CHILD SOLDIERS IN AFRICA" (while also making some questionable inferences about the stance of the person asking the question, forgive the bitching). Is murder an appropriate analogy for sex? You-know-who (Dostoevsky) makes the comparison in you-know-what (Crime and Punishment) and his understanding of morality and human nature was profound; not that I wish to appeal to authority, but I must question where the perception of the immorality of the deed comes from. Even Dostoevsky, the great sympathiser, had to excuse his character from her profession by casting her into desperate circumstances; why does there have to be an excuse!

You guys probably like to think of yourselves as modern and progressive, the champions of those burdened by unfair stigma, but on this question you just throw up walls. You deny the group in question agency of it's own; rather than saying "it's okay to be a whore if you want" (some of you agreed but it didn't seem very, how shall I put this, well thought out) you say "nobody chooses to be a whore*" and the question "is it okay for people to start whoring themselves out and do they deserve the ostracism and castigation people would dish out on them if they knew" is completely dismissed.
