Hm. This is what everyone keeps saying, and I can see how it is; it's a really good movie. But I think modern film as ruined it for me with all the other psycho killers. Or I need to rewatch and absorb.

Up in the air. I really enjoyed the first half, then it got all sentimental and boring.
The ending barely saved the movie. It's definitely not worth an Oscar.
On the other hand, compared to Avatar, it is.
