Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

Eyebrow Razor rash?
I've been shaving off my brows for a good 6+ years and sometimes I get a bit of 'razor rash' afterwards. Usually I just ignore it when it does happen, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they have any solutions?

Do you shave them completely off ? ( though why on earth you would even want to I have no idea, tweezers have been around for a good couple of thousand years or more ) #
Perhaps wax them next time? The rash is caused by blunt cut hairs trying to push through the skin. Waxing yanks it out from the root so when it grows back, it's from scratch so the hair is naturally pointed and slides through the skin more easily, which prevents the rash.

Can't say that I've ever shaved my eyebrows but I would think that you would treat it the same as shaving any other bit of skin. Exfoliate both before shaving (to ensure a closer shave) and whenever you start to get any bumps, just make sure that you are using something mild and that you aren't overdoing it so that you don’t agitate your skin.

Solumina; I figured the same thing, just thought I would ask around as well.
Honeythorn; I do shave them fully off. I would tweeze if I had any hairs left... When I was younger and my anxiety was terrible, I would pull out my eyebrows and eyelashes. So after A while, I had nothing left. When the little hair did grow back I couldn't even pencil over it to make it look right (though I did try for some time), so I ended up shaving it completely. Sometimes I would really love to have brows again. Haha

I don't mean an eyebrow razor, I mean a disposable shaving razor.

Maybe not use a disposable razor >.< I can't use them on my legs, I can't think of getting them anywhere near my face.
Although I find men's disposable razors a lot more pleasant, if thats what you're using.

When you get the bumps decorate them with small bits of fruit and cheese, this will please the eyebrow gods and if you are diligent they will grant you one wish, as long as your wish has to do with eyebrows.

I used to shave mine off, too, and while I never had this problem, I think the solution is to just wax them off. It's only like $8.

I've always considered it, but never tried it. I think I'll do that sometime soon and see how it goes.

I agree have it professionally waxed or if you have to shave it yourself try and use a facial shaving cream with moisturizers... Nivea brand is okay.
