Damn it... I wasn't thinking when I posted that... made an ass out of myself...

I apologize to those that have been/may have been offended by my post, what I said was in ignorance ((which isn't much of a bliss, most of the time)) and hope people will forgive me.

I turn 17. Things don't look that great still. At least I have my own appartment now...due to becoming a Dancer at said club. I am about to turn 18 at this point.

I dated an old highschool flame, we moved in together. I turn 18. We had to move b/c his father robbed from us. Stole his checks and all. My Grandmothers jewlry...yeah.

We move...I get a good paying respectable job, he starts drinking and smoking weed. I get the blunt end of his beatings..oh...and I invest in a gun. I get angry one day...I am tired of being beat. I shoot the wall three inches away from where he was standing and told him that if he didn't leave me alone I would put the next one in him.

I moved out that day. A few friends helped me get my stuff. I move into a home where the guy I am renting from tells me I can live there for free...only to then run out on me with the whole house payment to myself...for three months at a time. No help. I am about to turn 19. I figure. Why not join the military. I will always be housed...always have food...never go with out pay unless i really fuck up.

I take 'The Test', pass with a 99 when the average is 70-80. I get told I can have any job I want. Woohoo!! I decide to pick Signal Analysis, before I leave...I meet my now husband...we hit it off really well. I turn 19. Decide not to go in. Get told I'm pregnant...happy day!! My husband joined the Navy.

Been married since Feb 10th 06. Have a house, food, and a son. Haven't looked back.

Kidding, hope I didn't make an a$$ out of myself. Still living at home and parents are decent. Will move out when I turn 18, hopefully fiancee will come and we can get a place together here. I didn't even know you could move out of your parents home until you were 18 (unless they kick you out). Won't they get arrested for child negligence or something like that if they do?

Technically, you are correct. However, sometimes things just don't follow the technical way things are "supposed" to go. In fact, most times, they don't.

It is hard to move out early, at least into your own place, because you legally can't sign anything (like a lease for an apartment). There are ways around it though.

As for the negligence thing, it's one of those laws that never seems to be enforced when it should.

I think I might do some research first, before moving... on some of the surrounding major cities.

I would recommend having a job that pays good enough to rent a place. Being homeless is no fun at all.

Wow... Your life story is so much more interesting than mine. Sorry you had to face those things, but in retrospect, I rarely get to see a triumph story.

Left at 18 to get out of the house, out of the country, and off to Uni.
Love it at uni. The work's a bitch, but the freedoms... the blessed freedoms...

21, when I transferred from city college to university. Moved back not long after I graduated. It's a drag for my social life, but I get on well with the folks and have been able to save quite a bit of money.

And hey, I'm taking a job in Japan next month, which is pretty awesome in my oh-so-humble opinion.

I suppose that depends on one's parents. Mine are laid back and don't make me live under any "rules," I just wouldn't feel comfortable bring a girl home or anything like that. >_<

I moved out when I was 17 with my little sister cause my psyco little brother cut my sister and attempted to get her with a very large knife. After moving out, working, and going to school, Department of Family Childeren Services told me I could do that. They put us in a girl's home and I just got out on my 18th in February. My sis is still there.
