What Different Languages Are You Able To Speak?
I studied Italian for three years and Latin for one, but they didn't end up working out (I didn't really like the Italian language, and Latin is not offered at my college). I was learning Arabic this year, but I dropped the class because I was not learning anything and I was under a lot of stress because of that. However, he told us that learning Arabic was mostly a task for you to do on your own through self-studying. Do you think that's true? Because now that I have the books and DVD's from the class, I'm determined to learn Arabic. I'd also love to learn German, and pick up Latin again someday.
Anyways, what different languages are you fluent in?

I speak high school level French and I'm teaching myself Japanese, but I'm a beginner.

None. I forgot anything I learned in school due to not requiring the use of German in any way. I can sing a couple of songs in Finnish and one or two in Gaelic though.

I speak fluent Arabic and English. My Russian isn't as good as my English or Arabic, but i do quite well.

Estudiando espanol y/et je sais quelque francais de quand j'ai étudié à l'école. I also understand some cantonese-chinese. I'm thinking of learning italian or korean in the future.

I can speak English quite fluently (third language), My hebrew is really good (second language), but therefore my first language, Russian, isn't good at all. I can understand but my speech isn't fluent at all, and so is my writing, though I can read well. I plan to learn Japanese and I want to learn German one day.

I can speak Latin but I'm better at translating from Latin to English than the other way around
I would really love to learn Russian and Japanese but I don't currently have the time or money for lessons

I'm okay at French, Spanish, Latin and speak wee bits of Scots Gaelic and German.

I think you really should have a teacher for learning any language, because if you just study by yourself you run the risk of memorizing things wrong, and re-learning is a real pain.
Anyways, I speak Japanese but I'm really far from fluent. I'm going to try to pass the JLPT level 3 come December. Polite speech and passive tenses are a real pain in the ass.

I can speak basic German (High & some Dialect), Dutch, Spanish & some Norwegian, Brazilian Portuguese & French.

I speak and read a little French, a little bit of Japanese but I never learned Kanji, so I'm missing out on one of their alphabets. I'd like to take up Japanese again but I'm afraid I'll be lost, so I think I'll take up Spanish.

A small amount of Mandarin (Chinese)
Spanish is pretty easy for me but I make no effort...

Used to speak German and French pretty fluently. Haven't spoken them in eons, but I still understood what vng2 wrote en Français. Learing Spanish (mainly because almost everyone here speaks it). Learned a little Danish and a lot of Dutch when I was stationed in Germany.

English of course, I know French pretty well (I'm prone to grammatical errors, but I know enough to get my point across), I can understand a little Spanish, and I've just recently decided to undertake the task of teaching myself German since I've accumulated a lot of German-language music over the years (L'ame Immortelle, some Wolfsheim, Lacrimosa, etc.) and would love to know what they're saying. Thus far I only know a few words, however...not very far along with German yet. I can sing a song or two in Scots Gaelic, but I have very little clue as to what they're saying.

Like a lot of people here, I have experience (but I'm not fluent) in either French or Japanese. I'm taking Japanese right now and I'm at intermediate level, and I'm going to start taking a beginner's class with French next semester (I took it in high school for three years, so a refresher course will be easy and not too time consuming).
I want to learn: several romance languages, if only for reading or hearing (Spanish, Italian, and I love the sound of Romanian).
A couple of Germanic Languages: Norwegian, German
It'd be nice to poke at Finnish, if only to pronounce things and say a few greetings :]
Russian is beautiful, as is Bulgarian. Arabic would be useful, or Chinese.
(I'm a linguist in training, and ... I really don't know where I'll get the time for any of these :[).

Sign language counts as a language, and I'd love to learn that too (I dream too high I think :[). Irish is one of the hardest languages in the world, so I'm always admiring anyone who learns it.

At the moment, I am working on Latin. =D
I hope to eventually try Arabic.
I read that translators who can speak Arabic make up to 200, 000 a year.

English, Luxembourgish, German, French, Trierisch slang, I can understand portuguese but can't speak it, same with Dutch ( although I can read it ). At some point I will probably have a stab at Japanese.

Well I'm in French 1 at school.
All we actually do is watch weird cartoons, and Madagascar, and Back To the Future, and Muzzy, and this show about a talking pineapple, and write stories about cats, and sing songs and decipher pictures about cucumbers.
Basically all I can say is J'mapple un gross chatte.

I would love to go back to learning German and Japanese. I started off but my life's struggles turned me off my course.
I, at least, plan to learn them before I visit the countries...
