A couple months ago. It was mutual. They're both busy with their own things.

Hmm. The Antichrist is back. Some guy that is calling himself All Shall Be Judged is roaming the board. And now your thread simply says Armageddon.

Something is afoot.

Hmm. I'll listen to the album, undoubtedly. Can't guarantee I'll enjoy it, though.
The man has done a few great songs and some average ones n'all.
I just hope it isn't as bad as Eat Me, Drink Me really.

I am saddened that you associate my coming with such insignificant happenings. If you believe one thing, let it be that I come in peace.

I've heard from fairly reliable sources that one of the songs sounds like Rock Is Dead on steroids, and one sounds similar to para-noia in the sence it's "long and hypnotic", the one that sounds like rock is dead on steroids apparently continues on with the guitar solo stuff, and has lots of screaming in it.

You know what he should do? Make a cover of a really good song and add nothing to it, yet making it intensely crap.

He's been saying for ages that this album's going back to his Antichrist Superstar years more than anything else and if he does that then I for one am a happy chappy.

Manson does everything very theatrically, no two albums have had the same "theme" if you like, so I don't think anyone can guess what's coming next.

Very well put! Seconded
I think Eat Me, Drink Me was good, just very different to his other work... And it was very powerful live.

Stop calling him Brain in an attempt to make yourself look like you know something about him. It makes you look like a tool.

In an interview, just last year, he pointed out that people always call him Brian to make it look like they know him but it only proves that they don't, seeing as he doesn't respond to that name. Not even with his closest friends, lovers or even his father. Even his father calls him Manson. He's Marilyn Manson. Not Brian. Just had to get that out there for you.

Manson is great at creating a good flow, be it song to song or album to album. Whatever was lacking in the last album usually becomes paramount in the next. So, the next album is going to be fast, aggressive and have lots of screaming.

Lmao, Brain

And I agree with that in a way, but there's no extreme contrasts like that between his previous albums, the difference is generally the angle he takes. For example, Portrait of an American Family / Smells Like Children are quite childish and playful in attitude, for example The Family Trip on Portrait is from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and My Monkey sounds like a kid's nursery rhyme, however Antichrist Superstar is a lot more mature.... both have screamy and slow tracks though.

A comment on the album from Rudy Coby, a friend of Manson's, regarding the album.

This guy is Legit.

Without giving anything away - (I'm a Magician, after all, and keeping Secrets to someone who trusts me is my bond) - I'd say what stands out is how fucking raw and heart-felt the lyrics are on this one. Blood oozes out of the speakers on this one. Twiggy being back and allowed to fucking go crazy is a revelation - everything he absorbed being in A Perfect Circle or NIN but was held back from doing is laid bare here.

The people who long for the heaviness of Antichrist Superstar are going to shit their fucking pants - Manson has a better word than 'heavy' to describe it that is apt, but I'll let him tell the tale when the time comes. But....Holy.Fucking.Shit.

My favortes are the ones that he played me last that he had 'forgotten about' - which shows you the strength of this album. Think about that for a minute: my favorites are not the first, second, third, seventh or even TENTH ones he played for me. Wow. There is way too much for just one record.

I read one of the descriptions of one of the songs as the new 'Para-noir' which kind of confirms you can't really compare what's on this record to the past. To me it's more like Pink Floyd and Led Zepplin mated and their children covered 'Doppelherz' while slowly bleeding to death in a porno house on 42nd Street before it was taken over by Disney (but maybe that's just me)

But I digress....

I could talk about this for a week without giving away specifics but know this: Manson is at his strongest and most powerful in all the years that I've known him. The excitement I feel for the guy and what 2009 is going to be like for him cannot be expressed in words.

It's all that you want and more: there's stuff on here that Kerry King would say, "Gee, that's a little extreme don't you think?" (I'm kidding but not really - there is blistering stuff that a lot of people are not going to be ready for.)

And, it's not all (fill in the blank) there is genuinely heartbreaking stuff.

I respect Tim and what he contributed in the past, but this is a whole other beast - this is the stuff that got you to listen in the first place.

By the way, I'm happy to be talking about this today because it is truly a SPECIAL day - but this is probably the last time I'll answer questions like this. I think you can tell it's because I'm excited about everything beyond belief, but there's only so many ways you can dance around stuff without spoiling surprises. I've gone over five years without saying anything, so I'll cut myself a little slack - but the truth is that people sometimes read way too much into things and I don't want to cause unnecessary debates. But, one thing I will stand by: this is a very happy birthday for the right reasons.

This album is goint to show the world what hate really is.

You think you know what the color black looks like but this music shows you a whole other darker spectrum.

Hey people,

Been a reader for sometime but only just registered. Have to I agree with those praising EMDM; It's Manson in raw form. He let's out in EMDM like never before, quite personal actually. Have to agree again in regards to those who appreciate his softer softer music such as Fundermentally Loathsome, Speed of Pain, Man that you Fear, In a Shadow of the Valley of Death and Coma Black; these songs maybe soft sounding however the lyrics are some of the most brutal, particularly MTYF.

In regards to EMDM, it is essentially a spiral into darkness, depression and near death. His new album I suspect will be the aftermath of surviving such places where Manson said he didn't even know what it was, or who he had become during that time.

I expect the new albums sound to be quite intense. I'll predict that the shops will probably stock it in the death metal section.

Fucking I'll be lining up for a ticket to his Sydney show 10 hours in advanced; I'll be punching folks out the way.

Manson said that "Eat Me Drink Me" was probably the most personal album ever recorded by him.He said that the album shows the human side and vulnerable side of him.He said that he recorded most of the songs laying down so the sound is mostly distorted and unproper.
I personally loved the album and yes it was something different.
