HOLY SH**!!

Those pictures are great. I would give anything to have seen one of their live shows, I'd bet they were fun as hell.

Evanescence have Amy Lee. I find her voice incredible. They combine a heavy metal theme (Which shows gothic culture along with the dark lyrics) then Amy sings choir/opera which relates to religion. So basically, I think their awesome!

Yeah, but they denied any ties to being gothic what-so-ever. I don't respect that. She said it to the interviewer as if it were a sickness.

Besides, I don't much like their music, mainly because I think Within Temptation is a bit better. Plus they have more songs that I like.

A lot of gothic bands do that simply because if the claim to be gothic, all of the goth-haters would stop listening to them. That's my theory anyways.

But...they have female voices singing their songs? Not a big LoA fan or anything, (even though chicks singing 'show me your pussy' is awesome) but I figured since I heard women singing they had a woman singer...

Lol, I guess, maybe it's cause I don't pay attention to the singing at first. Call me weird, but I listen to the beat of the song first and then if it catches my attention I listen to voice/lyrics.

It's the same thing with a lot of bands; bands and singers that really influenced the 80's gothic movement...like The Sisters of Mercy and Dead Can Dance. They both denied any ties to gothism. Labels suck, and so do the people that use them.

Don't we all label others to some degree?

No one is completely clean from being judgemental. By judging others, in a way, we are labelling them.

OMG!!! Helio! I thought I was the only other person on the planet who knew about Kidney Thieves!! I heart you!
Oh and the regular female back vocal for CoF is Sarah Jezebel. (except for and live recordings immediately after the Cruelty and the Beast album... she dropped from the tour and they replaced her with a less then mediocure slash singer *gag*)
What about the Female singer in Legendary Pink Dots? She's amazing... um Within temtation? There are also alot of artists on the Projekt Label that are amazing or Cold Meat records..
Hell (awaits the rotten fruit storm) even Christina Aguilera has a decent set of pipes, she just uses them for pure evil. ^^

Hole isn't one of my favorite bands, but i really do like Courtney Love's voice. I don't think she's an incredible singer, i just tend to like the female singers with the raspy-like voices. I like the vocalist in Garbage , not sure of her name. I know it starts with a Sh.. and one of my guilty pleasures would be Mariah Carey. I'm not the biggest fan of R&B, but you can't deny that she has an amazing voice.

In case they've not been mentioned, try Faith and the Muse, and Cocteau Twins.

And Sanctus, I love the Kidney Thieves, and along the same vein, Snake River Conspiracy.
