Damn... when I was in Anaheim last July I was staying on Harbor Blvd. I can't say I ever got treated badly there, but there was a time on the train from Hollywood to Long Beach (a train we mistakenly got on thinking it would take us back to where we were staying... and we were very very wrong) when a group of African Americans started shouting racial spew at myself and a friend. They weren't too keen on my top hat >_>

People can be so disgusting sometimes. I can't imagine what goes on in their heads when they think "Hey, I'll just shout something awful at this person over here, then maybe throw a few bottles at them. Yeah, that'll be so fun, what a marvelous idea".

*Le sigh*

Stop asking me if I'm upset. Please! I'm not. There's nothing wrong. I'm just bored and waiting for my shift to end. I can't help it if I naturally look stern. When I relax my facial muscles, I look serious. I'm not pissed. Promise! Stop asking me. I'm sick of explaining this.

Cicero and everyone else: stay away from Long Beach. Not good.
Used syringes on the sidewalk. Yeah, and worse than that.

Yeah, I noticed those syringes... As well as the shady characters hanging around outside liquor stores. Not to mention the friendly folk shuffling by and looking us up and down, judging whether we were worth robbing or not. What fun!

That's very unsettling to me about Long Beach. That is where most of my childhood was spent until my Dad went off to find himself. He found himself in Petaluma. lol if your ever up that way needing a haircut let me know he is awesome.

LOL

I haven’t found any syringes there but I understand how you all feel. I just think Long Beach has a lot of “Rough Trade” mentalities.

Me and my friend had a discussion Long Beach not so long ago. There are defiantly bad parts of Long Beach (My best friends says you can always tell when you are in a bad part of town when you see a Popeye’s chicken nearby and there are quite of few there) but there are plenty of good things about it too.

It has a couple of good goth clubs and I don’t know if they still have it there but there was one that specialized in “‘80s goth night”. Also it has a decent gay community and this porn store called “The Crypt” which has some neat pieces of clothing.

My job is to be the end of the line, the last option, ie "when all else fails hand it to me and I will fix it..."

No one even tries to figure the problems out on their own. The moment something looks like a cartography issue or it looks like a bad probate, it hits my desk. Then I have to take the time to explain why it is not that bad, that is they reviewed the whol efile for context...

... if they knew wha tcomtext was.

... or what underwriter guidelines encompassed.

In summation, there is a pitcher on knowledge that I need to impart upon my grunt squad so I can finally take my promotion, but there looks to be a shotglass or a pint glass of capability and retention. At least they could take notes when I explain so I wouldn't have to go over the same docket or statute twice.

Anyone noticed how much daylight you burn or listening to other people rant about shit, that has nothing to do with them? I hate that.

My "favorite" rants go like this:

I have this friend, he is an asshole, and I can't stand him, but later we're going out together and I hope he doesn't behave like a complete and utter ass and embarrass me and he's such a poseur!

Umm. I avoid people who make me want to hurt them. It's beyond my comprehension why others don't do the same.

Why hang out with people that embarass you? I dated a guy that used to embarass me. He was loud and obnoxious. I hated him...

I avoid people that make me want to hurt them, but sometimes they get in my face on purpose. Its like they know exactly how to piss me off...

Because of my desire to excel at work, I've stopped "hanging out" with anyone. Work is my only real social time. The rest is all fam. I am ill-tempered, to be quite honest. But I have found that not giving a reaction and straight-up hypocrisy (for example, I know some people talk loads of smack about me and I act like I know nothing of it. I'm uber polite and helpful toward them) are two of the best ways to beat people in their little mind games. They have no idea what to do about hating you. They also make themselves look really stupid. I used to be an expert in giving silent treatment, but then people know I'm mad, so even that's giving too much away. Keeping to myself and pretending to be oblivious is giving me such control....mwahahahaha....

Stop being so nice when assisting, then they won't go to you as much. They'll think twice about it. Be blunt: 'I thought we discussed this last week.' Don't smile. It works.

Get them to write things down. They learn quicker if you make them write what they're learning on paper...not sure why. but it works.

This is always my first step. I don't know how anyone trains without taking notes. If people keep asking me the same questions over and over even after they've taken notes, I feel like they're taking advantage of my kindness and patience, and with those sentiments my patience runs right out.

Ok...i'm ready to flip out! My parents barred me from seeing my Ferret, so I go and see him as soon as I can slip away from them. It was out anniversary the other day and I planned to see him…My mother started being bitchy and wouldn’t let me out of the house. So I made a plan, and we still saw each other. I’m going away today, and she jumps down my throat yelling that she knows I’m still seeing him…It pisses me off!!
So what if I see him? My dad only thinks he has too much metal in his head. My dad has nothing against him…SHE’S the one that blames things on my dad! My dad just wants me to be happy. SHE’S the reason I have to move out…NOT my dad!

I just completed the revised statute and underwriting manual. I also made the "rules"

1) Read the fucking manual
2) If the problem is addressed, go away
3) Bring the whole file with you
4) Bring your manual and a pen and take notes
5) If you ask the same question twice, you have to give me a quarter. Once I have enough quarters for a ten dollar roll, I will put said quarters in a sock and go all Kubrick on you.

My boss made me amend the sign
