I only have two textbooks, but one of them seems to function as an overpriced paperweight.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions.

I downloaded a bunch of stuff on another pc to a flash drive (since I can't download things on this pc). I installed the Adobe Acrobat security fix. I restarted the pc in safe mode then ran several virus removal tools I got from AVG Antivirus' website (which found nothing). I installed and ran Ad-Aware (which found nothing) and Spybot Search & Destroy (which found several trojans), I installed and ran ClamWin antivirus which found nothing.

I installed the Chrome browser which did allow me to download and install Internet Explorer 8, so I now have IE back and Chrome which are both working okay now and downloads work okay in them. So now the only lingering effects of the infection are that file downloads and picture saves that I do in Firefox still don't appear in the folder I save them to, and I can't run, uninstall, reinstall or fix AVG antivirus. So something is still going on.

I was infected, and found Eset Nod32/other products did not even find an infection at all. I located the Registry entry that was loading up the virus (it is not in HKLM/..../RUN/ but one of the other shell init folders - google for it), clean booted into Ubuntu (it sees NTFS partitions just fine) and deleted the executable. Worked for me but I rebuilt the System anyway. Just wasn't comfortable using the OS once it had been compromised.

This girl my friend is setting me up with and I have been texting and she seems AWESOME and not psycho! Finally. The last girls I've dated have either been porn addicts or total tools... and I know the first one SOUNDS cool, but I'm really not as kinky as that was. DADDY. ISSUES. Holey mother of god.

I got tickets to see Nick Cave on my barfday, and for Peter Murphy next week. Dream Theater too if I can budget it for this week. Woo.

Ha, thank you!

And "lucky you" sent through the Miss Etiquette translator means "I'm insanely envious and damning my inability to snag some tickets of my own right now" : )

Nothing good happening, or you just can't afford (time, money, whatever) to go?

P.s I love snorkeling.

P.p.s That wasn't meant as a sexual innuendo, ha.

Time, oh, time! Between jobs, children, and house restoration, it gets difficult to find enough free time for anything. We make it to the club about once a month and hit one or two bigger-venue concerts a year.

It's all about priorities, and once you have kids, it's not just about you anymore, is it? I love kids, though I'm far too selfish to be a parent.

Do you do house restoration professionally?

Isn't "Between jobs = jobless"? har!

Heh, I knew I should have reworded all that.

Yes, children do have to take priority. As they get older, I feel myself getting restless - I can see the end in sight, and they are so near being self-sufficient. Just a few more years. I'm very proud of them.

We're just restoring our own house for fun and insanity. It's a 1892 mix of carpenter gothic, Queen Anne, stick, and whatever the builder was inspired to add in. I love it. And I'm tired. So tired.

Between jobs : )
Poor choice of words, there. Mr S has a job in IT, my work is all unpaid: volunteering, housework and children, etc. I do make fabulous clothes for others and write a bit, but not for the money.

This is almost certainly more than you ever wanted to know!

Not at all true. This way your handle has some personality behind it as opposed to just being a collection of pixels.

Hope the house turns out to your liking. Would love to see pictures of it when it's done.

I spent all morning recording riffs to a click track.

I'm not too happy about sequncing them right now.

Thanks. Pixels aren't very interesting friends anyway.
You may have a very long wait for those 'finished' pictures! But I'll dig in my files one day and see what I can post of our progress.
