anybody that doesnt share the same reasons for identifying with a particular social culture as the non-poseur?
Or just the ones that like the black wardrobe and are rebelling against their super-oppressive and incompassionate parents?

I try not to judge, but I inevitably do.
I do, however, accept the fact that I dont actually have all the answers. I just think its kinda funny when people try to compare someone else's social identification. Everybody identifies a certain way for their own reasons. I think that would be enough.

choice two i believe they were super preppy then one day just showed up dressing goth, one of them does his hair so often he carries a bottle of hairspray around. . . oh and frenn yes to literature, i have 3 partial books written two, i just got an idea for another

They didn;t know me, never talked to me, then one day out of the blue one of them stands up gets right in my face and yells 'you don't deserve to wera those clothes' yeah thats a great thing to say to someone who has been like this much longer then they have. . . sweet.

ape- i've been like this for 5 years, when i lived in texas all my goth friends looked up to me, so how can i be a poser? i dont care if you believe me, i guess the only thing you can do is just ignore this shit because its getting pretty fucking annoying

Perhaps I was too eloquent in my statement.
I was indicating that perhaps you fell into the latter category. Dont take it as a mark against you. Once upon a time, back when I was a little girl, I thought I was the gothiest of them all. I out grew that, but managed to retain a certain regard for a darker wardrobe, an unhealthy obsession with the beauty of the night, and a certain penchant for poetry.
Im sure the "posers" view you in a similar light. It happens. Just make sure you have a good understanding of yourself before trying to understand others. Personal reflection is a wonderful, but very dangerous, thing.

oh no, i understand what your saying completely.
i honestly try not to judge anyone, i know that i get judged on a daily basis because of the choice i made and i accept that, but i choose not to judge others because of appearence, i guess its my way of proving to myself that i have a better out-look on life then others. What got me to judge them and think they were posers was because of how one of them yelled at me when they didn't even know me. my thoughts were 'what gives them the right to think i'm a poser when they have no idea who i am'. now when i fist saw them at school i thought they were cool and that maybe i would try to chill with them, but being a teenager i never approached them, it's just not what you do in high school so i just watched them from afar and noticed how childish and just stupid they were, when one of them yelled at me i decided to ask around and i got the same reply from everyone, they were some of the biggest preps in the school and one day they just started to dress 'goth'. to me thats a bit strange, you dont just completly change over night. atleast i didnt so i based their actions on my experiences and found them lacking.
oh and i didnt change because of my parents, my parents are there for me no matter what, they are just a bit annoying like every teenager thinks, i know that much, to be honest i changed because i liked the clothes, and i love the life style now, i dont think i could ever change from this.

I think you're missing the point that, when you're a teenager, its ok to change and figure out who you really are. Its my opninion that all children are posers of whatever they think they are, as they are still learning. Its not always a bad thing.
I don't care how long you've been "dressing" a way or not.. I don't really give a shit about what people wear... or why they wear it. And while it is lame to get in another person's face about anything really.. it doesn't make them any less goth than you.. even if they started yesterday. Its not a competition... its not really a point to brag on.. I mean.. you wanna get on this board and talk about five years when some of us are decades a head of you (I'm not that old ).
Goth's aren't required to be friends with eachother.. or even be civil. When a nother goth is mean to you.. it doesn't make them a poser.. just possibly an asshole.
