I feel like such a sellout
I just bought a communist shirt with a credit card, I feel like a sellout.

I know I know, but there was no way to escape being a sellout. I would have made it myself, but I would have had to buy the t shirt and bleach.

I participated in something I don't believe in. Hypocrisy. Though, it's hard NOT to participate in capitalism where I live.

At the same time, it is almost impossible to believe in something to the core and not, on occasion, be a hypocrite. Living any belief system- religious to economic- is difficult. Trying to adhere to one that is not indigenous or typical for your area can be nigh impossible.

Absolutely correct. Take my church for example: They advise the congregation to vote for California proposition 8, because "it's in the bible" but yet don't condone stoning anyone to death even though that is in the bible too. Inconsistent. (Not to thread jack, but if they can decide what parts to believe and what parts to ignore, so can I.)

What's California proposition 8? Because I'm too tired/lazy to look it up right now.

It's disgusting, that proposition.
Thank's Molly, I feel a bit better.

sellout
Hey man,
I was just thinking about your situation, and I am thinking that this is just a survival technique.
You know, I am not a cannibal. I will never eat human flesh. But if I am stuck in a survival situation where there is not food available, and there is a dead and fresh human around, I will start by eating the thigh or the arm.
Same thing for vegetarians in a do or die situation. They will have to eat fish or game or die (if no edible plant life form is around of course).
You just used the CC as a last resort method. Of course, you could have hand made the shirt, or somebody could have done it for you. Shit, maybe this is far away location and you could not go there, or maybe the proceeds go to a socialist/communist organization, and there you go. I also do not use credit cards, as I consider them a legalized form of slavery. But my ATM Card on the other hand.....
Don't feel to bad. I do many things that I find distasteful, but this society states I must (paying taxes, driving at the speed limit, registering my guns, etc.).
You might have stronger ideals, and this could be a struggle, but I know you will prevail.
Good Luck!
Uncle Jerry

I appreciate the condolences, Jerry, but I think you took me a bit more seriously than I had intended on being. I was earnest, but not that much so.
I know I'm a sellout on those beliefs, it's impossible not to be. I'm in a capitalist society. I use a purchased computer with cable internet I pay monthly in an apartment I pay rent for. Society is under no obligation to bend to my ideals.

I just don't know what credit cards have to do with communism. If anything credit cards will help pave the way to communism. They are these pieces of plastic that are completely reusable and last forever. Your earnings can be transferred to them through a computer on the date they should be received and credit can be extended if you run out before pay day.
Another advantage is they are secured. If your credit card goes missing, it is reported, limiting people from engaging in theft. Cash temps people, because it doesn't really belong to anyone. Credit cards limit crime.

Really? Because it's not wise.
Catch, you are speaking of credit cards in and of themselves, not about the credit cards we own.
A lot of anarchist provinces in Spain used a credit system similar to what you mentioned, and it actually flows better with communism because a centralized system is indeed giving you your share.
But Joker of course didn't buy a communist Tshirt with a socialist and standardized card of merited credits.
He bought it with a capitalist, corporate credit card. The type that most consumer whores use to pay 16% interest for four years on something that cost them 13.99, and, paraphrasing George Carlin, didn't even like it when they got home.

19.5% interest, and I loved it when it got here.

19.5%?
jaysusfuck, man. Save your cash and mod an old shirt next time, or save up and buy something on debit so you're not giving ridiculous levels of interest to credit card companies.

Possessing a credit card and using it is not a threat to communism. You should be cheating the system somehow. Throw a wrench into the system. Hand it to a homeless man then declare it stolen a few days later. Power to the people!
