South Yorkshire M.O C, that be the kingdom where I reside. There's a few things going on but I'll get through them, I always do, one way or another.

I'll be fine, I always am. Things just blew up in my face and not in the way I like

I paid $210 for my first steel-boned underbust corset that I used for training.
It was well worth every penny, and all of the ones I will buy in the future will be too because you get what you pay for.
If you are only going for the look of the corset, and not for actual training, you can check out these stores on Ebay...

They might not be the best, but they give the look of a real corset.
If you do ever get/want an actual corset for training, you won't want to buy your first one off a site without first being meausured like missc said.
And you probably won't want to buy any of the ones I just linked to you. Haha

Triple post, sorry again guys, I went back and re-read.
I weigh 98lbs and have the shape of a stick (I think I have a 23" waist);
my corset gives me great curves.
I'm almost positive it would work for you. Haha

Well, I'm currently doing an experiment with the inner structure of the top half of a strapless dress and a very pretty rust-colored fabric covering. Hopefully this will get the look I want without breaking the bank.

One crappy cell phone photo. I haven't put the loops in for the lacing yet, so it's just pinned in the back right now, and I didn't take all the tacks out yet.. Still, I'm pleased with how it turned out - especially for a total of $12 on materials.

I'll try for a more complete photo in the photo thread of the full outfit once I get my petticoat trimmed and steal mom's camera.

If you want something quick, easy and cheap, you can always pull out some fashion duct tape and a t-shirt... DIY FTW... then, save up for a real one.

Not sure how to make that look nice. I generally stick to victorian-inspired type stuff. The fishnet and safety pin styles just make me look like a teen trying to hard to look hott. Not nice.

When I am making something and I have trouble with seams looking right I add ribbon and/ or lace over the area. It seems to work in most cases. Since your crafty their are some good patterns to make one it will cost at least $60 depending on the fabric you use. Try Laughing Moon Mercantile and make a pratice one out of a cheap strong nonstretchy fabric first to get the fit.

Blatant plug for a friend's site...

I have a friend that makes corsets, amongst other items, to order. My wife has many corsets by her, and models for her site. She does prefer to deal with ladies of a "fuller figure", shall we say, but can make items in whatever size you want. I think the largest size she has made anything in has been a uK size 40.

Here is the link to the site. www.foreverinblack.com and for the record, my wife goes under the name of Lady Lillith on the site.

Really wish I had a corset shop where I live. There used to be a nice one, but it closed down. I must resort to fashion corsets...

My recommendation is Recollections.biz.
They do all of my Corsets, Clothing and other things, including Jewelry and Millinery.
I prefer a Clean, Classic look.
