so i have a new piercing..
anyone have any advice on how long i should wait before stickin a 14G in that sucker?

I do hope you steralized that. I've also heard that safety pin might corrode causing infection problems. Overall I just don't know if that is safe. Could somone more experienced with piercings verify please?

i dont know much about piercings, but my friend who's pierced like 98765456789876 times puts safety pins in her holes all the time. In her ears, in her eyebrows, on her nipples etc.
The nipple thing actually looks quite good with a tight top.

If you sterilize it and don't keep it in for too long then it shouldn't be an issue but I would put something else in there soon.
As for changing it to a 14 I have no clue.

It depends on how big the safety pin is relative to the other jewelry. On average, if it's a little bigger, wait two months, if it's the same size, a few weeks.
By the way, doing piercings yourself is incredibly risky and very stupid.

For real--sterilization (which was impossible for you unless you have access to an autoclave) is the LEAST of your problems.

You can get it sterile enough to wear quite easily. Yeah it isn't ideal but it isn't going to kill you. That being said you shouldn't be piercing yourself, I assumed that she had someone else do it.

if im not mistaken, thats just a normal sized safety pin, and ive dealt with piercings for a while now, so id say that it'd be around 18 gauge. if your going to skip right to 14 and its not fully healed, it might swell up and mess up the healing process. i skipped to a 14 with my lip, but my lip was very messed up and will never heal properly, plus your lip is much stretchier then an eyebrow.
it would take a few weeks for that to heal, but if i am right and that is around 18 gauge, and you went right to a 14, it would mess up the healing process and probably swell up.

I don't know if it's just me, but the pin looks a little large for its purpose. Other than that, though, it's definitely an interesting idea!
I do agree with the others that piercing it yourself could prove problematic and dangerous, if you don't know what you are doing. Did you do the piercing yourself?
