I like "The Simpsons" just fine, but I actually prefer Matt Groening's other creation, "Life In Hell."

It's been around since 1977, and is still published today in hundreds of newspapers and weekly tabloids around the world. Since Groening never cared if it was a commercial success, it defies convention in it's format. Sometimes it is a large, singe panel ... sometimes it's a few small drawings with a lot of writing.

All I know is I love the way he comments on the things he's unhappy with in life through Binky the bunny, Sheila his girlfriend and their son Bongo (who only has one ear.) Also of note are Akbar and Jeff, two homosexual lovers who look fabulous wearing a fez.

To learn more (I encourage it) click on the google search below and check out the first, second and fifth links.
"Matt Groening" "Life In Hell" Google Search

My favorite all-time Life In Hell cartoon (I once had this on a T-Shirt - wish I still had that) is one where Binky is laying on the floor in a disheveled heap, a picture of his girlfriend by his side and a drill in his hand. There's a mess of holes in the wall above him, as well as several places where it's obvious that the drill got away from him and scrolled across the wall, knocking pieces of drywall off.

The caption read, "If you drink, don't drill."

-------------------------------------------

TANGENT: I wore that shirt once. A friend read it and said, "Funny, I do some of my best drilling when I drink!"

Actually, I just found someone who's posted a few choice cartoons on his website. Don't know how long they'll be there, but for now here's the index:

http://www.punkasspunk.com/hell/life/

Particularly emblematic of the series are the cartoons "What Will You Say On Your Deathbed?" and "You'll Never Make It."

And, yes, "If You Drink, Don't Drill" is there!

Flying, I really just kind of stick up to jet lag. It is very sucky, but after a day or so, you should adjust pretty well. Ear plugs help with the ear popping, as well as yawning. Drinking something does too, but I wouldn't suggest alcohol, because then by the time four flights are done, you have a chance of being hammered, and then talking to security guards and finding baggage is not something to do while hammered. From past experiences I know. And umm, lets see, to find out what type of adapter you need, try calling a travel agency and asking them, they might know. Good luck, and a safe trip!

I am watching World of the Stupid or something like that, it seems entertaining. Reminds of how much of a putz I was, but hey I had fun doing it.

I hate not being able to sleep.

*sigh*

I'm currently obsessing over Stabbing Westward. It is very entertaining, makes me wonder why I didn't discover them earlier.

Can't sleep...

Hey - the newly revived 'Masturbation' thread gave me this idea - you should try to masturbate. That should help you go to sleep.

Yes, I'm actually being serious here.

Um - Sanctus? I'm really tired right now so perhaps my brain isn't functioning properly. This is a joke, right? Right?

Edit - she is your baby sister so I should probably add that I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings but she's not exactly what you see on runways. Edit out.

Talking

I'm so sure I'm not high right now... but perhaps I need to go check my eyes??? Sorry man but she needs to get real (or definetly another picture...) She kinda needs this mantra "don't laugh, don't laugh, don't laugh..." That will solve most of her prooblems I think... when she's got that engraved then snap a photo and maybe it won't be as scary...
