Introduction

Hello,
I have been poking around for a few and thought I would join. I guess we can genuinely learn more about each other in the forums.

Id suggest reading the stickies. It'll save you some hassle with getting bombarded by posts

The stickies would be important, or lasting threads that have some value. These would be both.

Oh boy, ok here we go.
1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)I, like so many others right now, have become unemployed, but before that, I was a vet tech.

2. Where are you from? Currently in Oregon

3. Who is your favorite author?hmm, anyone that has something of value to say.

4. What are your favorite films? Horror of many types, dramas, basically anything well done. If i'm not watching it for the horror scenes it had better have some depth.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?Already married, so it doesn't matter.

6. At your funeral? Something offensive.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die? um, can I get back to that one?

8. What kind of casket would you want? My body is going to science, so I don't care.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit? Something that looks and feels GREAT. Don't know what that is though.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid? Sleep, no resposibility, wanting to be an adult.

11. What's your favorite band?Depends on the mood.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major? Some college. Not sure yet.

13. Why did you join? Different collection of minds you don't get on other forums.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?Male

Vet tech is cool.

Why is it we have a spate of people lately who answer all the questions with "idk", "too many to name", "it changes too often to say", "anyone that has something of value to say" and meaningless answers like that? When the answers to more than half the questions tell me nothing about the person, I find myself asking why they bothered with the questionnaire.

I've been picking on many newbies for this so I'm not singling you out, but "anyone who has something of value to say" means absolutely nothing to me ... particularly since you and I might value different things. For instance, there are people out there (this is crazy, I know) that think Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh have something of value to say. I know someone who buys every one of their books. Now if I didn't know that, and they told me that they only read people who have "something of value to say," I would probably guess wrong what that means.

Anyway, don't worry about it. Either you'll say some things that will make you seem like a unique individual ... or you'll fade away.

It seemed insinuated that the questionnair was mandatory. So I figured every one needed at least a non-answer. Glenn Beck is awsome! So is Pat Robertson and Bill O'Reilly. Before you ban me, that's a joke.

But fair enough. Unlike the above mentioned, I enjoy educational literature. I'm in to the sciences (pseudoscience doesn't count) and some philosophy. I would like more time for other reading like LHP literature, but don't always have time. Does that help a little?

It actually does help a little. I'm not one of those people who reflexively insists that a newbie has to fill out the questionnaire (although it can be a helpful starting point for those who don't know where to start.)

My point (to all who start introduction threads with generally vague information) is that in real life an introduction is more than just "my name is ... and I don't know what else to say about myself".

If you can't describe yourself in some ways that distinguish you as being unique and worthy of some interest, why bother making an introduction thread at all.

But I do like your reply to my first query.

I actually don't , just converse stars in my ankles and a The Mexican Eagle with a 13 on it on the back of my neck.

But, fear not two clowns shall adorn my body. When i get the money.

Get the clowns, and underneath them (in script) should be the text "for PJ"

LOL!
