An introduction of Cotton.

Hello people.

Although my username is Cotton, my real name is Martina.

Nice to meet you guys. =)

P.S. Sorry for the extremely short introduction. I don't really have much to say about myself.

Following Maggot's suggestion, I've posted my answers to those questions.

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I don't have a job as I am still in high school, however, I like to draw, read, and play MMORPGs as my hobbies.

2. Where are you from?
California
3. Who is your favorite author?
Robert Jordan and J. R. R. Tolkien

4. What are your favorite films?
Memoirs of a Geisha and Little Nemo in Slumberland

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
N/A
6. At your funeral?
N/A

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
Eh, preferably in a peaceful way, and not when I'm sleeping. It'd be creepy to go to sleep and never wake up again
8. What kind of casket would you want?
I prefer to be cremated when I die
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
If this is about gothic fashion, I'll pass on answering this question. I'm not a goth.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Still believing Santa Claus was real. =P

11. What's your favorite band?
N/A

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
I currently have a high school education. Art or Science will most likely be my future major.
13. Why did you join?
I'm a geek who likes to learn about a variety of stuff, and I'm interested in learning how the gothic subculture was founded and such.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Female

First off all, if you want to learn about the goth subculture and how it was founded than let me tell you that it was founded on a musical genre with Bauhaus, inspired by glam and post-punk. Goth differes with darker tendencies and asesthics, finding ideology from the 18th and 19th Century and putting it in the form of a subculture. That's how we were founded.
Also, if you aren't gawth, then that's okay, but I wouldn't suggest staying here to long. Mainly because many threads revolve around musical tastes, fashion, etc.

Another thing don't listen to the words of bloopie, as well as other brand new people untill you read their introduction which will show you if they intend to mislead you.

99.99999% of people do not live in your reality. Sorry for the disappointment.

Ignore Bloopie's comment. The 'above poster' is dead on.

I think you sound like an okay person. That's great, so few of the people who join are worth any attention other than flaming

A great article to read on goth is called Goth With a Sledgehammer.

By the way, you should stick around a while, for the exact reasons Vyv said you shouldn't.
Check out the bands we mention, stuff like that.

I meant it will be hard for her to follow the discussions. Not that, 'O ONLY PPLZ NOT CONFORMITS ALOWED11111' but that it will be hard to relate and/or contribute. Besides, we mainly have threads regarding the bands we like, but not giving them an introduction.

*SIGH*

It's not a religion. It's a subculture. And I think that's a silly comparison.

Oh, and Bloopie, I don't think it's good you determine other people's dedication toward it. You have an idea, but not the whole cake of it. (Snickers)

I have my rights, Bloop. And I know you're annoyed by what I say, though keep in mind that's not my intention. I was abused growing up and unaccepted by the social enviorment. I only have few salvations, goth is one of them. I perfer you not put me in my place. I have all respect to you regardless.

I see what you mean, but I am what I am. I am happier seeing as my ideolgy is goth, and if you think it's "pretentious" or "Pseudointellectual" but I would find it sad to see someone as understanding as you, whose had mental break-downs and problems, giving it this kind of misunderstanding click.

I love the gothic subculture, and always will. Religion, Family, Friends, have failed me. And I'd like it to stay it that way. Before I discovered it in me, I was going to blow my freaking brains out-and I was eleven years old. It's that screwed up. Alright?

Also, what does it mean to be in "Reality"? Are you THIS concerned about fitting in you mock other peoples interests? What is "REALISM" eh? That's pathetic if you honestly think all these majority conformist-loving people are smart! Even for you. Realism? You alone can't define that, and you're really getting on me right now.

I'm going to say Lykaios has it right on. Bloopie, I've realised that you haven't changed. You always have my support with your personal problems, and I respect your opinions but you're really taking advantage of that.

Wow. Threadjacked when it was unnecessary.

Give the guy his thread back, both of you, quit acting like children.

Bloopie. Do us all a favour and shut up. Don't sacre off the newbie by threadjacking her intro. Cotton / Martina, you sound more than half-decent. There is a conspiracy at the moment...all the good n00bs out there are joining together and bombarding us with their decent intros and such. Welcome though.

Yes welcome Cotton, It's good to see interest in the gothic culture and subcultures, even if it is just for academic purposes.

And why can't everyone just realise its still 1870! We're not dressing up, everyone else is!
