Where exactly did you get that genre classification from?

The OP is too musically challenged to run it's own thread. This thread is about Rudimentary Peni now.

Well I honestly have no idea where you got the goth part from, where was it that you read they were of the goth rock genre?

Because to a metalhead, melodic death metal sounds nothing like thrash metal, which in turn sounds nothing like doom metal. Spend five minutes listening to drone metal, and you'll understand why we need categories.

And what Terminus said.

I feel a minor poetic urge coming on...

Mmm, troll soup
so warm and tasty
I like to pour whole crackers in
And smash them with my spoon

Stir! Stir!
O, Cook of Trolldom
Make him spicy
Not too bland
Serve him on a silver tray!

No. I can never recall Bullet for My Valentine being a goth band either.

I've never consider BFMV to be gothic really, but they do have really good music. I'm a big metalhead as well as an Industrial EBM goth so I like a lotta bands like BFMV, I'm actually listening to them right this second. Tears don't fall. Anyway, I support this thread and band.

Now I'll just share my favorite BFMV songs for the hell of it..

Hit the Floor
Tears Don't Fall
Waking The Demon
Scream Aim Fire
Watching Us Die Tonight

And I like all the rest but those are my favorites.
