Figured I would get this shill effort out of my system before I continue exploring the boards.
I've been an amateur photog in Toronto since 2005, having adventures here and there and meeting people whenever my chronic stutter and anxiety doesn't render me incapable of conversation (I'm looking at you, David J--hope I didn't freak the guy out too much). Along the way I have seen some local groups really find their form, visually and in their sound, like The Scarlet Fever and Ayria.
Amy's Arms is one of the groups I've seen live most frequently in the past few years. I saw the lineup change a lot until settling on what it is now, the live performances get more interesting, and the sound fill out as new "good fit" members arrived. Then one day, still unsigned, they decided to crowd fund a full studio album, from recording to promotion to distribution--I would look forward to better production values, should they be able to afford them at the end of this. And a new album would be well timed, because it would give them something representative to sell when they're touring with David J in spring 2014.
Here's the link to Amy's Arms Album Recording Drive. 48 days left, so lots of time, and they're up to $1040 as I write this. Perks are cumulative, so you can be entitled to that level's perk plus all the ones for levels below it.
And if you're thinking, "no, I was more interested when you mentioned David J",
he's got something running too, and it looks like it's going really well.
