Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Shit, I was going to make a comment about how elitist they seem with their "Only real goth band" schpiel and how I buy the CDs anyway for some reason but now I feel bad considering y'all are official and shit.
I love you Nosferatu. I sing your praises to the heavens and reject all other bands who call themselves Goth, for I know the One True Band is you.

Actually I may be a bit of an old sod, but in the 90's, Nosferatu were already considered as a lousy band.

Armchair critics are many but bands are few, lesser still good ones. Thankfully Nosferatu ignored critics from the start. The rumour in the 90s that they were a lousy band was perpetuated by a few negative queens. For the few who went to see the band for themselves they got a real treat. Im old too but, I can say that I followed that band on both the Rise and Prophecy tours and the band was so far from lousy it would be a cold day in hell before Id give up my Nosferatu collection even 20 years on. Far from being elitist the band always had time to talk to fans and sign merchandise after a gig and are nothing like what the rumour mill makes out. Which is why its always pleasurable to watch them only grow stronger gaining wider audiences and headlining all over the world dispite the petty opposition theyve had for being really Goth. Im looking forward to giving the new album a spin on my Ipod and looking forward to seeing the band again on the york dv8 warm up night in july this year.

It was nice thanks. But I wasnt directly speaking to you as such rather the general air of critism when it seems no one was gracious enough to listen to or criticise the album first. I wouldnt be so grandiose as to compare my defending them with the priory of sions protection of pilgrims in the holy land however.

I think the band would have to work bloody hard to top the rise album because its so classic and I was actually very fond of the old drum machine, corpse choir and harpsichords but.........from my first few listens the tracks bombers and wonderland are great standout tracks and it looks to be a good all round album with good clean production. Well done guys hope you do well with sales of the album.
