Motorcycles And other Shit Pertaining To Said Subject
I decided to get my motorcycle license. Now I need a bike. I hear which one you should get depends on weight and height and strength and stuff, but I'm just looking for a beater I can drop and fall on that'll get me from A to B, preferably on a freeway. I know nothing about motorcycles so easy terminology and explanations would be great.
I bought a few books on basic repairs and maintenance and I know how to ride it, but I just don't know anything about makes/models/speeds/CC/whatever.
I hope there isn't already a thread about this. I searched but sometimes I suck.
Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest a Kawasaki Ninja 250. It's the perfect beginners bike.
If you don't the crotch-rocket design of the Ninja, you could always get a cheap pre-owned Honda Nighthawk 250, or just look for used bikes that are in the 250cc range and you'll be fine, even on the freeway. Don't forget to get proper protective gear too.

250cc should be fine if you don't plan on going very fast.

A Ninja 250 is good, but you will out grow it quick.
Have a look around your local dealers, sit on a few, then go online and get one you like cheap.
It's personal preference.
I have owned all sorts - I have a Fireblade now, but before that I had a Harley (Springer softail). It's just like a car - a matter of personal preference.

Thanks guys, I had forgotten I asked this. There's a used Honda bike place near my house, I might check the prices there and then go online shopping. Thanks again.
PS, if I go and buy one from Craigslist or something like that, what should I look for to make sure I'm not buying a crappy bike? I might bring a mechanic friend of mine with me, but I want to look like I know what I'm talking about.

Last year, I got an old Suzuki 400 (circa 1979):
It was cheap, it has decent power, it has that cafe racer vibe (after a few mods), and I can make all my mistakes on it without worrying about having damaged a new, nice-looking bike.
Another season, and I plan on getting a Triumph Bonneville:

I think you'd enjoy a Bonnie. I currently own a Triumph Legend TT, which is a low-seat bike similar to the Bonneville, and I absolutely love it. My Legend is a triple, whereas the Bonnie is a twin.

I used to cruise around on one of these:
My next-door neighbor was a WW2 Reenacter and had ^.
He also had a Panzer tank, which he drove us around the neighborhood in. I shit you not.
My dream bike is a 1979 Triumph Bonneville:
