Goth makeup

I am mystified when I see a picture of some with a real goth palor.
Real white complexion and black eyeliner around the eyes.

I don't know what kind or foundation to use to white out my skin,
poweder, what is that? All I do it put on my black eyeliner.
I can't find good white stuff anywhere in town, but there are some interesting stuff at goodgoth, but I don't know what to buy.

The powder and other stuff at the drugstore all look like they are designed to deliver that "sun kissed" look. Me I think tanned skin lookes like fried chicken.

My aim is for that real pale look that matches my black clothes.
Infact, I only own black pants and shirts. I am unique and strange on the inside, I want to let it out in my clothes.

The people around me dress the way they are on the inside,
bland, boring and generic.

any tips? I would like to begin DIY too.

Simply use foundation and powder for pale skinned people.

The idea is not to look white, just pale.

MAC cosmetics however do provide actual white foundation if you really want to go for that look, it just costs a fair bit.

Pale is what I meant. Just a bad choice of words, but yeah.
We don't want to look like a clown now do we?

Use foundation designed for fair haired people; and remember that less is more.

Just make sure you moisturise before hand, apply the foundation (make sure it's even) and make sure the powder is evenly spread, starting from the nose and working out.

Forgot to metion; makeup application is only as good as the tools you use, so make sure you invest in good quality brushes.

I also recommend Gosh eyeliner, because it's waterproof and doesn't smudge.

I am also putting some hydrogen peroxide on my arms and face.
After the stuff is finished, I rub some lotion into my skin to replace the moisture. My arms are much lighter now.
But I looked at goodgoth and I found some foundation, has abyone tried their stuff? Is it any good?

Pardon me but if I recall correctly, peroxide is not good for the skin as a lightening agent.

Why would you go to this extreme for an ideal skin color that's not only really nothing special but one you can simply achieve by having enough sense to put on sunscreen and staying out of the sun if you have no protection?

And from whatever pics you put up, you already seem pale to me. :P

Hmm, what exactly will it do to my skin? Someone started another thread and a few people there tried it, and they has good results.

Thanks for the compliment, I will buy some pale foundation and the end of the month.

In stronger concentrations peroxide is corrosive. To me that alone is enough to say "perhaps I won't be slathering this on my skin any time soon".

But anyway, in other words, that stuff burns you.

Well, Manic Panic do a great range of pale foundations, ranging from stark white to a more natural pale look: http://www.manicpanic.com/vr_pressed_powder.html
Have you considered acquiring a parasol?
They can be pretty useful for preventing tanning, and they don't make your skin greasy like foundation or sunblock.

This is what a hydrogen peroxide burn burn looks like. I wouldn't recommend smearing that on your body.

Thanks for the advice on not using hydrogen peroxide.
It did wanted it to do, clena off the worst of my tan.
But I don't think I will use it again. I will just stay out of the sun.
I hate the sun anyways. For some reason, my eyes are real sensitive to it now, even though sunglasses. It is like an arclight.

I hate the whole "white face" look....unless it's Halloween perhaps.

I tend to use foundation that is 1 shade lighter than my skin tone. It gives a very slight effect, but doesn't look unnatural. I think you should just be happy with the skin-tone that you have...I mean, we aren't actual corpses, are we?

If you are just wanting to get rid of your tan, the best thing to do is just stay out of the sun/wear sunblock, and do NOT use peroxide!

Why would paler skin match your black clothing better? Black goes with everything!

Seriously white base looks shit on everyone. No one is THAT white. Ever ( except possibly Michael Jackson now, and who the hell wants to look like that??? )

No. You are no more strange or unique than anyone else on the planet. Even the most bland seeming person is bound to have some sort of dodgy secret/fetish/personality tick. And I have yet to meet anyone who expresses personality through clothing. You don't need to do that. Just express yourself through yourself. Because that is actually who you are. As far as I know people just buy clothes they like the look of and they think will suit them ( which turns out REALLY badly in some people's cases as I think pretty much everyone has witnessed or experienced at some point in their lives )

As for eyeliner, get a good quality pencil and PRACTICE. Rest your elbow on the table to keep your arm steady, and put a mirror in front of you in natural daylight ( in other words sit so you are looking out of a window and have the mirror in front of you ) doing makeup in natural daylight ( no not full sunlight ) is the best way to do it as you know that what you see in the mirror is what people outside will see in terms of how well you've applied your foundation, ( I have noticed that people who apply foundation under artificial or striplights tend to put too much on for some strange reason ) and you will have good lighting to apply eyemakeup properly and correct any mistakes and smudges.

Is that really a burn from peroxide or just peroxide bubbling up on a nasty scrape?

It's an actual burn, It's at a concentrated level, but nonetheless, it's a burn. I checked up with my sister ( chemical engineer ) and she's seen people get burns like that.

Oh you guys are seriously talking about such things? I never use makeup, my skin is very sensitive. Just some eye-shadow would make my eyes blink real bad. I know there are special types of make-up for people with sensitive skin like mine, but hey, you don't see me complaining! Even if I had to put some on, I would put anything light, simple, and easy to get off!

My skin is fucked-up, since I'm from the Mideast. So, it's kind of yellow-ish, and I just happened to notice that a blush would make me look paler. :|

As for the 'I am unique from the inside blah.. etc.'
I think it's important for someone to let your inside be brought to life through clothes and makeup, but hey, look at people like me! I have to make my own things, including gloves, shirts... We don't really have an HT here, and I can't seem to remember any good stores that specialise in goth make-up. Even if you ask the people at any beauty saloon to help you out with using makeup, they won't be able to! That, or call you a freak. That's why, and only to show people in what WAY I am unique, not that I am unique, because everyone is anyway, I tend to gothetise everything, using almost anything. Last thing I tried to gothetise was a white coffee cup, it's filled with black splatter, but I failed to make a good skull patern on it. But I'm drifting away from the subject.

I know I'm utterly useless. But it was worth saying. =)

Simple foundation and powder for pale skin if your allergic to those cosmetics,
Better consult a dermatological expert before applying any chemicals, cosmetics on your skin.
