I'm still rather young, so it's just feline children for the time being . Rozzy, Brody, Daneille, Mooli and Kitten, and I love them all to bits.

Perhaps one day I'll have human children, but I'm concerned that I'm not really enough of a 'maternal' type to handle it. Although I enjoy playing with kids (as it gives me an excuse to play with lego again, muahahaha!) I really don't like babies much at all.

Then there's the whole thing about overpopulation and not wanting to bring another child into the world, etc...

Meh. I don't know. Luckily at 17 I have many years left to decide, haha.

Unfortunately no . They're staying with my family until October, when my mum will bring them over and help put them through quarantine and everything. It's one thing that I'm reeeeally not looking forward to...

No children (thank god because I am still in school). I plan to never have children...I just don't like them.

I love my feline children. I mean yeseth, I will have kids one day. Adopted or not, but I will. Until then I have my kitties. I had a scare once myself, I am really too young to be having kids at this moment. Therefore my kitties are wonderous.

I want a son. One son, that's it, even if I have to adopt. I hope to call him Alexander... although his face may tell me otherwise when we finally meet.

I have always liked that name; most of my boy dolls were named Alexander (although I never played with them...).

Haha, "I called him Alexander and I put him on the shelf."

Anyway, I don't really want a girl because I hate doing hair and (the possibility of) the whole frilly dress and dolls thing, and I don't want her to suffer for my neglect of giving her all the "girly things" in life, and I don't want to foist my own tastes upon her (eternal tomboy that I am).

If I have a boy, I can at least dress him correctly (for a boy at least), and if he ever does develop an affinity for makeup, I can show him the key to androgyny as well.

korinna5555- your fur-babies are just *too* adorable! I recently lost my kitty (only 18 months old) to feline leukemia. I love horsies, and I wish I could afford one, but they cost so much to take care of (you know that). I used to have pet rats, so I know the whole rodent-love thing. They're fun! I'm not sure about hamsters, but rats are very smart! Oh, and my cousin used to have a Hedgehog named... Sonic (go figure). He was cute, but I was always afraid to pet him for fear of being quilled.

Okay, now back to *human* children. I don't have any. I'm married, but we've got a lot of debts (the biggest thing being our car payments) right now, and not a lot of income. I also haven't finished my bachelor's degree yet. I absolutely LOVE babies - LOVE them. I used to be a camp counselor, and I've also worked at a daycare as well as babysitting for families a lot.

The thing is that being around young children all the time at the daycare really turned me off to children between the ages of 2 to 5. They're so demanding, hyper, talkative, inquisitive, etc. It drives me insane. Mind you, I've heard having your own children is different from being around other peoples' (especially large numbers of them in a daycare room lol).

I just don't really like KIDS. I really love babies because all they do is sleep, cry, crap, and eat. I haven't been around many of them that are extremely fussy, but even when they are it's easier to deal with a crying baby than with a screaming, talking, walking, hair-pulling, scratching, biting toddler. I especially can't stand little boys of this age as they tend to constantly tackle one another and do... boy stuff. Argh. My husband loves kids though, and not babies, so I guess that's good since I'm the opposite.

I just feel mixed about having children because I know that the baby stage is so short, and yet it's the most precious to me. I'm the type of person who often gets into moods where I just want to be left alone & I don't feel like talking, and yet young children are always asking questions, like "why (this/that)?" and "who (this/that)?" and "what's (this/that)?". And the songs... now I love music, don't get me wrong, but stuff like the Wiggles, Barney, etc is pure evil. I might have to gouge my eyes out if I have to listen to that stuff 24/7 - it was bad enough hearing it for a couple hours a day at the daycare.

I have no children and no plans currently to have any, although that could change, and in the past I had definite plans for having a child.

I feel I would make an intelligent and capable parent. Being aware of the overpopulation situation (as anybody with any sense should be!), I considered not ever having children at all. But as there seems to be so few capable and intelligent parents out there, I almost feel obligated to be one of the ones raising a child. But only one, if any. Adoption is also a possibility. Having loads of children is really irresponsible these days; and it's religion, not poverty, that is most responsible for that idiocy... in my humble opinion.

In the meantime, I have my two cats: Calamus and Seraph. They manage to be a handful on their own, which is probably good training for having children someday!

I have one child, her name is Gracelynn. I also have five feline furbabies, their names are Astro, Miss Kitty, Snickers, Smokey, and Tigger. I always knew I wanted to have children. Even at a young age I dreamed of being a mom. My little girl is two years old and I hope to have atleast one more. http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o...7/S5000149.jpg Here is a pic of me and and my cherub.

Eh, she's cute. She reminds me of my little cousin at that age, whom I adore.

...Eh, as for me, kids, maybe through adoption later in life. I'm a bit too divorced from the idea of actual birth to really want that.

If I don't have children, I'd really like to open a cat rescue and grow old as one of those cat ladies. (-minus the appalling stench.)

My girlfriend and I don't have children but are talking about it in the next couple of years. We have issues being a lesbian couple, though. We can't adopt because our relationship isn't recognised at a federal level, even if we live in a state where it is. Our options for artificial insemination are fast becoming invalid as the Australian Government are looking at changing the laws to forbid lesbian couples from using IVF to conceive.

This leaves the 'hi, do you want to lend me your penis for a while so I can get pregnant' option. We have friends who would gladly do this for us, however the Aust Govt would recognise the birth mother and biological father as the childs parents. This means that if I give birth and Tracey and I raise the child, the 'father' still has more rights over the child than Tracey does... even if he was just a guy picked up in a bar that we didn't know and who didn't know that there was a baby born.

This may never really be an issue... but it still leaves the possibility open, especially if something were to happen to me. This man would have more rights over our child than the woman who raised her with me. And if something were to happen to both Tracey and myself then the child would be handed over to him instead of Tracey's family being able to care for it.

Incidently, Canada has just passed a ruling that let a baby who was born to a lesbian couple have Mother, Father and Mother2 entered on it's birth certificate. The courts there recognised that the two women raising the child had equal parenting rights and they both wanted the childs father recognised as well.

So at the moment, Tracey and I have a list of baby names waiting, two cats and two ferrets.... and mayhaps one day there will be a baby as well.

God no! Let's keep it that way. I love cats, they barely talk back and don't ask for money when they go out. Besides, if I had children they would have high chances of being bipolar, as my father is and I am told it skips a generation.

You have such beautiful children!

I can't wait to have kids. I mean, I will, as I'm 18 and plan to go to school and all, but I really want to be a mother. It just seems like so much fun.

I enjoy being a mother, it is the best thing I have done. I have a good career, and have done some awesome things. However my kids would be the top of the list, they are incredible, people, I am very proud of them.

I don't have any kids yet. But whenever I do, I know what I'll name them.
If I have a girl, her name will be Luna, If I have a boy, his name will be Athrun.
Other boy names I love are: Kira, Skyler, and Angel.
