im a male. 16 years old. 6'3" tall. i sing in a death metal band and play guitar a little bit. i am from fayetteville, G.A., (dont laught at me, i hate it too.) my favorite films are "friday the 13th", "nightmare on elm street", "death valley, the revenge of bloody bill" and "wrong turn". i want cannibal corpse " death walking terror" played at my wedding. im not sure what i want played at my funeral. when i die i would like to be killed by jason voorheese or be burried alive. i would want to be burriedin a black casket with dark purple velvet interior with a skull and cross guitars on the front. my favorite outfit is black and purple tripp pants, a black shirt with the cannibal corpse logo on it. black spike stud bracelets on each wrist and my snake bytes in as deep as possible. the one thing i miss about being a kid is cutting the heads off my toys and flushing them down the toilet. my favorite bands are cannibal corpse, arch enemy, dethklok, bullet for my valentine, slayer, chimara, siolent green, you get the picture. i have a hig school education. i was held back in the tenth grade for cussing out my teacher and telling her to go swallow a knife. i joind because ive been a goth for over five years and i always felt very left out in school. when i found out there was a web site for people of the gothic community i jumped on the computer and looked up the site.

You seem nice though. Hi!

Dude, he answered every question in the questionnaire, almost in order.

Hey man. I don't know what you think goth is, but it's a glorified fan-club focused on a specific breed of post-punk music that reached its height during the 1980's, music produced by bands that seem to have alluded mention in your intro. If you'd like to establish a foundational knowledge of goth music, I encourage you to investigate:

Bauhaus
Sex Gang Children
Sisters of Mercy
Alien Sex Fiend
Christian Death (Helmed by Rozz, not Valor)
Play Dead
Danse Society
Specimen

I call members of both sexes 'dude'. We're living in the 21st century- women fought for their sexual liberation, and this is their reward. Deal with it.

God damn dude, you're huge!
But I do have to tell you you got the whole "goth" thing wrong. For instance, there's virtually no metal in gothic rock.
Stay around and you'll learn about it, but don't start thinking that it's an insult to be told you're not a goth, nor that you have to stop liking things because they're not goth. Hell, the amount of punk I listen to overshadows the amount of goth I listen to.

Silver rings count as metal. He's only an inch taller than I am, how tall are you then Godslayer, if 6'3" is huge?

Arch Enemy is ok, there's a ton of better melodeath bands out there though, just like there's an uncountable number of better death bands than Cannibal Corpse.

I don't think Slayer is 'shitty' but it's the only band I'd listen to out of the OP's list.

Bleh, they're boring. They're a cliche more than a band.

I find all old-school thrash amazingly boring, but Slayer I just find to be a knockoff; Metallica with slightly darker lyrics.

Double points for Dethklok! Ironically, they helped me get into metal more. XD

dabbadmc,

I agree with you, their earlier material was groundbreaking and highly influencial for all extreme metal bands and their 1986`Reign In Blood` album is probably one of the most important and influencial metal albums ever as it set the standard for all Thrash and extreme metal albums to come, which put Slayer on a creative plateau as they couldnt musically surpass it , but if you think about that was as far as Thrash metal (which ranged from everything from the `Big Four` Anthrax, Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer) to the more intense German bands such as Kreator and Destruction) as a sub-genre could go, before evolving into Death metal and Grindcore etc (and thats another story to tell ) !!!.

The early Slayer stuff is really good, and sometimes did sound like a bizare speeded up hybrid of early Iron Maiden and Judas Priest with a bits of Mercyful Fate and Venom (the latter two bands inspiring their cartoon horror themed songs) !!!.

dabbadmc,

Do you like Celtic Frost ?

None of those bands are goth, and they're shitty metal at that. Slayer was one of my favorite bands until recently but I've grown pretty bored with them.
Though I do like Dethklok, heehee.
