Uh, that depends. Two things could be going wrong here.
1) You simply aren't funny. Whatever you are saying is perfectly reasonable to yourself and hilarious, but the rest of the world thinks you are just fucking bizarre and it isn't working.
2) Maybe your humor is offensive? If you're saying stuff that could be construed as dressing down someone, it doesn't matter if you call it a joke.
Post an example damn it.

It's better to admit that you use GT, than to pretend you don't. Hell, I use it sometimes, it's a decent way to learn more german, and other languages..

I actually don't use Google translator. I took 4 years of German in High School, and have forgotten 75% of it. I'm trying to brush up for being a moderator somewhere else though.
