lady_cthulhu ftagen?
Hi everyone. I'm an author/illustrator who writes horror novels and does illustrations for indy table-top rpgs and art prints. Subject matter is mostly scifi/fantasy/horror. I like a lot of things, mostly reading, cooking (and eating) good food and Japanese things. I'm kind of from everywhere as I grew up in a military family (and am now married to a soldier) so I've moved around a lot. Mostly I grew up in Ohio and now I live in Texas. My favorite author is HP Lovecraft, but I will read just about anything I can get my hands on. As far as films go, I like Shadow of the Vampire, The Nightmare Before Christmas, the old Lon Chaney Phantom of the Opera and the recent The Wolfman. At my wedding I am dithering between the theme from Tetris and March Capriche from Kingdom Hearts. For my funeral, I'll probably just go with the classic Marche Funebre, I like that song. I think being stabbed through the heart would be elegant. No casket please, I prefer to be cremated and then force-molded into a diamond to be worn by my heir at all times. I like soft, long drapey shirts with black pants or pleated plaid skirts and striped socks in appropriate colors. One thing I miss about being a kid is that I had access to a ton of books at home and several really good libraries close by. I don't really have a favorite band, I like most music, esp instrumentals. I have a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Video Game Art & Design from the Art Institute of Phoenix. I joined to learn and meet others with my same interests. As my username indicates, I am female.

@korinna5555
-many, many thanks (yeah, I caught that mispelling too...right after I'd posted it *sigh*)
@ape descendant
-I actually...don't know. On the one had, burning them with me viking-style would ensure they'll be at my side (feet) in the afterlife...on the other hand, that's an awfully mean thing to do to a perfectly good pair of stripey socks. I suppose I shall bequeath them to you, so long as you swear to care for them as if they were your own...er...socks. Except for the black and grey pair, those are going with me.

Naw, I don't think it's cliche at all
Red is an awesome color, it was a definite favorite of mine until I dyed my hair green. I still like it now but it doesn't look so good on me anymore, if you know what I mean. Grey is a little more forgiving, color-wise.

Yes, grey is awesomely forgiving. Wearing red with green could lead to seizures in passers-by, its very thoughtful of you to do your part in preventing this.

Well, I do what I can.
I avoid red and blue (the second color I used, now faded back to green) as well. Purple seems to get along all right with both colors somehow though.

That is because purple is every one's friend... well almost every one.. purple doesn't get along with orange, and has this strange complimentary love/hate thing going on with yellow.

True, true, although I actually like the look of purple with orange, probably because when I see it I immediately think of pumpkin candies for some reason. Not sure I'd want to wear it, but eat it, definitely yes. Yellow/purple makes me think of grape lemonade, and candy, of course.
Hmm. I think I'm having a sugar craving, and it's influencing my eyeballs.

OOh yeah.. candy... I totally forgot about candy, don't ask me how, though.
I'm already chewing on some gum.. and if that doesn't satisfy I have some yummy marmalade cookies... I would totally share.

Marmelade cookies? That sounds divine! I have Russian tea, and would totally share as well. I love tea, and it's more fun with someone else around (and cookies, too).

And I have some jasmine green, and a lovely little tea set. And I can make more cookies if we eat them all.

Jasmine is nice! I used to be able to get it at this great Chinese restaurant...then they went out of business *sob*.
Cookies and tea, what a wonderful afternoon. If only we had some scones...I think I might have to bake some now, lol.

Me too - almost two years. Question: have you ever had a devonshire tea? You know (if I've got this correct), scones with butter, jam and clotted cream?

I don't think I've had one of those... sounds lovely though. I usually have my green tea, sometimes a bagel... sometimes cookies.. if I've made them. If I need a big pick me up I'll have coffee.

@ape descendant
-I like coffee too, esp. in the afternoons. My dad gave me a few boxes of Gevalia Stockholm Roast that's pretty tasty with cream and sugar. Green tea is a big favorite in my house, as are bagels.
@Breathless Horror
-Yeah, I kinda write for a living so it would seem I got a bit carried away there; I'd beautify it a bit but alas, there is no option to edit it.
I'll try to control my scribal incontinence in the future. Just rub your eyes in a clockwise direction, then pain will stop I promise. Just don't stare at it for too long or you'll go mad/blind.
Thanks for the greets, and I'll definitely check out your thread.

Lady Cthulu, I see that you and Miss Descendent are getting along quite well already.
I'm an artist and a writer too and would be most interested to see your art. I wonder if you'd be so generous as to post somethoing in the "Dark Arts" section under "community" so that we could see your style. I have a feeling that you'll fit in well here. I have a fine arts degree as well. Alas, I'm hopeless with computers so Video Game Art & Design would have been a most fruitless endeavour for me I'm afraid. Anyway, 'a warm welcome to you.
