Depended on the guy.

If he is feminine, it'll look much better than you expected.

War paint is the way to go.

Or like Guggi here.

It shouldn't HAVE to look a certain way, really. Do wahtever the hell you want or think looks good. Screw around with it a bit and you'll find something. I used to wear make up all the time, but it was always done so terribly and messy. I wasn't always going for an elegant look, though. As seen in Figure 1.

I shall have to take some pictures of my eyes.
It's taken a while for me to be able to do straight lines though.
I generally stick with a liquid line over the top lid, pencil on the rim and mascara.

It's simple and effective.
Although eyeshadow can look great.

Speaking of which I just found my grey eyeshadow...

And HH I love that picture.
Is it just eyeshadow and eyeliner?

Thanks, and yes. Well, it's more like shadow and liner that have been there for like, three days with a bit of sweat and skin oil mixed in. I was so lazy about make up.

Niiice.
I spend about five minutes on makeup every morning.
I tend not to leave the house without it.

I did wear foundation until my skin got majorly screwed up.

any tips on how to apply? I don't want to go out with raccon eyes, it's not so bad on baby bats, but I'm old enough that it would look ridiculous, or what brand to buy? (knowing me I'll steal it )

btw I like the pic of guggi.

I don't wear makeup very often anymore, but when I do I use a face powder slightly lighter than my already pale skin, applied to my face AND neck so as not to look like a mask. I use an eyeliner pencil in black then go over it with a teensy skinny brush with black matte eyeshadow to seal it in. I use black in my crease on my eyelid and then use gray all over the lid and lightly on the brow bone. Then I take a cotton ball and buff the shadow around to make it look subtle and more like my eyes are slightly sunken and tired and not like I have got a line of shadow on.

The less the better. You don't want to look like an androgynous emo, so just a little eyeliner would do. Or get some cheap eyeshadow, and use it like you would eyeliner.
http://images.teamsugar.com/files/up...964421_600.jpg

Just don't put on too much.

(I don't care what genre the Horrors are, they dress well. But they could certainly use pants that are less tight.)

Emos are not the only ones that look androgynous at times. I have met some extremely androgynous male goths and they look quite beautiful. It is all about how you present yourself, as an emo or not. Androgynous emos on the other hand don't usually look beautiful to me, they just look like little 12 year olds.

Hehehe.

I love The Horrors.
They play here so much and I've missed them every time...

Anyway.
You should probably start of learning with pencil.
As it's easier to apply/remove.
Sharpen it to a point so you can do thinner lines.
Thick smudgy lines can be hideous.
Try pulling down your lower lid and applying on the rim.
It might hurt at first but you'll get used to it.
You can try using mascara too.
I can't really think of a step by step way to put on mascara.
It's pretty straightforward.

With time and practice you can move on to liquid.
That is if you want to.
It does look rather different to pencil and you may prefer how pencil looks.

It's a matter of opinion. I probably should have said If you want to look manly...

Me too, and gah! I feel so guilty for thinking they're adorable! They look like characters from a Tim Burton flick!

The organ playing in their music is ingenious. I can't believe so few people us it in that way.

YOU come to my threads and question MY authority on areas you know nothing about... and then ask the forum for makeup tips?

Moron - you need educating:

You can start by reading that article.

Yeah...I don't want to look androgynous, Johny depps makeup in sweeney todd is sort of how I want, maybe somewhere between Sweeney, and that picture of Guggi someone posted earlier.

I just think of them as women and then I can spend however much time thinking they're adorable as I want...

I can't wait for their new album.

That's still an awful lot of make-up. Wouldn't you rather look like this?

He could always wear a mask and just pretend he's wearing makeup under it.

You didn't do THAT bad a job, for your first time. Just don't put so much on the corners. That's where there should be the least.
