Literature Please come visit. People get upset, write poetry about it, and post it here. Sometimes we also talk about books. |

I am going for it too. Hopefully I will fare better than last year, where I was getting used to the rules and networking etc. (Previous Novembers I wrote but did not post on the official website for ignorant, needless fear of copyright loss).

I know, I have been too damn busy, but I am taking a week off for Thanksgiving, which is when I plan on doing most of the writing. I can write 2-3 thousand words a day average and can peak even more when my muse is in high gear. It shall be grand!

I type for a living. (I work 8+ hours a day as a medical typist in a hospital and 4+ hours at night as a medical editor). It shall be torture.

I'll be doing something sorta similar. I'm going to try to completely finish and edit the new play I'm working on (it's a 2-Act 120ish page musical fantasy adventure set in the afterlife) into a serviceable first draft by the end of November.
We'll see if I can pull it off.

Oh! I had completely forgotten about NaNoWriMo until I saw this thread.
...I wonder if I should try... I can't say I have the confidance (at all) to finish... mmm.
Have you guys heard of the 3 day novel contest? It's exactly the same as this only it, as is self explanditory, is to be written in 3 days and you submit your manuscript to be judged if you get it done, and the winner gets a publishing deal.
...And I can't even imagine writing 50,000 words in a month!
But any way.
Good luck to all who go for it!

That's 4.006 pages per day. And that's generous, considering that on average, an English word has 9 letters. It's possible, difficult, but possible.

I've given up already XD I'm trying to get a lot of knitting projects started for Christmas gifts, so I'm spending a lot of my free time doing that. November is just a bad month.

Yah! why did they have to pick November? Why couldn't it have been May or something, when you don't have a billion things to do in preparation for Thanksgiving and Christmas?!? As much as I wanna quit already I'm just gonna keep going. I have an odd storyline so far.

Well, I uploaded my novel. Don't know if they will accept it or not. Hope so. Just wrote a sequel to the original, because the brain cells are dried up right now. But that was easy. Just had to work around what I wrote last year. If it works out, I will start editing both. Finally have an idea as to what I will write next year, though. (NOW the brain cells kick in).

I flamed out on this after 6,100 words. I got bored with my own story. I suppose that's better than last year though ... when the effort was about 6,000 words less than that.

It's not impossible. My friend (also an ex Gnet member known as Mutsumisakura) has already gone past the 30,000 word mark and sometimes does about 6,000 in a night.
That being said I probably wouldn't have the dedication to do it.

I'm doing this. At 30k. This post is the result of procrastination.
