Pigeon wings! hahahaha.

Yeah this was when I was about fourteen. You can't catch me standing within 20 metres of a Claire's Accessories these days. XD

Normally I'll have a look, but I never actually waste money in there. I used to buy rings in there too, but they make your fingers green. Also you can be certain that anything you buy has been pawed with by several people. Someone brought me a little pot of lipgloss from there & there were finger prints all in the gloss. Eewww...

Sounds lovely.

That spiked wristband was the only thing I've bought from there I think... I normally got that kind of stuff from these three gothic shops in the west end of Glasgow, but they've all moved into the centre of the city now and they're no good any more since they cater mainly to posers now.

I've only brought one thing from my 'local goth shop'. The guy who runs it over prices everything. As I've said before when I went to Glasgow back in July I found a dress in a goth shop for about 20 pounds. On the internet it was 40. Down here it's about 70. But sometimes you can find soemthing good in the place you least expected. I found my Virgin Mary necklace in a rather mainstream shop for about 2 pounds. I also brought a black velvet choker with a skull on in H&M for about 4 pounds ^_^ very good buys indeed.

H and M is my favorite store....the one on 5th ave new york is the best! they have something for everyone and they are pretty well priced...you can make tons of outfits from a few pieces from there.

nobody mentioned hot topic...i laugh seeing the "goth" kids walk in there with their parents...but now my daughter wants to go there too! what happened to the days when we made our own jewelry out of safety pins and our own outfits...20 years ago when doc martens were cool we had to drive to Washington DC to be able to find them...now (even i have, ugh) you can get them for pennies on ebay...

We don't have Hot Topic in the UK. I suppose that's a good thing. But Doc Martens are still cool! I wear mine to death along with my New Rocks.

I've already worn my New Rocks to death, lmao. Need to send them off to Spain to have the inner lining repaired. >_>

(double post, oops)

Yah, we don't have Hot Topic, but we do have some similar places in the centre of Glasgow. Isis and Osiris have turned into poser shops full of crap clothes, and they're on a street that's *always* got dozens of 12 - 16 yr old "goths" wandering up and down it. I like Hellfire though, they've got two branches in the city centre, and they're usually pretty empty because they're too scary for the wannabe gothlings' casual browsing. XD That's where I got my trenchcoat and my New Rocks. They're quite expensive but the staff are good, the clothes are proper quality, and they sell a lot of stuff that you'd usually only get online.

There's also another pretty good independent shop just outside the city centre that sells custom made corsets, jackets, dresses, etc. Their window display is extremely impressive; they make wedding clothes for men and women, and the designs are very dark, gothic, Victorian and slightly vampire-ish. I've rarely seen people coming or going from that shop because it doesn't really cater to the would-be gothlings who you mostly see.

I liked it in Osiris! I brought my pvc bodice form there & was quite pleased because I considered it a bargain. I think I went to Hellfire too. I'm not sure because me & my friend spent a few minutes in a particular shop, but it was too packed to get around, so we left. Oh & the fact I really needed the toilet.

*sigh* 'Twas a good day in Glasgow. If I lived further up North I'd plan to go to Scotland again. It was really nice up there.

I wish we had a hellfire here, it sounds like a great store. We just have hot topic.

Today is my birthday! I'm feeling old at the creakingly ancient age of 24

On the plus side though, I have a birthday cake shaped like a coffin!!!!! It has black icing, two little black roses, red ribbon trim, and I made a black bat out of icing to sit on the cakeboard next to it. He has little green eyes!! It's my first birthday cake in 22 years, so I demended that my mother make me an apple and raisin cake, and I'd do the rest !! I'll post a pic later.

Did you know that there's Just-Add-Water-Microwaveable Cake? It's true. And it's single-serving, too... Yum.

Thankyou !! here is my cake in all it's glory

I bought the roses and icing from a specialist cake shop, as I'm shit at making both, but the bat was constructed by moi! That's a big black candle in the top right corner by the way.

luckily I don't like icing so he's not been eaten. I'm sure one of my brothers children will devour him without mercy though.

Aww bless that cake was great! Whenever I make cakes they come out as half sunken, poorly iced sponges with Christmas decorations to jazz them up abit. The bat on your cake honeythorn was really cute
