Hello, my name is Undead Stagehand, and I am...

Hello, all. Here's a little (too much) about me.

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I volunteer as a stagehand at a professional theatre. My hobbies include running, reading, writing, collecting plush cats, creating jewelry, and playing the bassoon.

2. Where are you from?
I hail from the northwest corner of nowhere, NJ. I’m originally from Connecticut.

3. Who is your favorite author?
These change quite frequently.
For poetry, my current favourite author is Emily Dickinson. For prose, my present favourite author is Ken Kesey.

4. What are your favorite films?
My favourite films are “Pride & Prejudice” (the one directed by Joe Wright), “Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles,” “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” “Harrison Bergeron,” and “Nosferatu.”

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
Although I do not want to be married, if a gun was held to my head and I had to get married, I would want something offensive (to my family, at least) to be played—let’s say “If You Were Gay” from “Avenue Q.”

6. At your funeral?
A piece with a lovely bassoon solo--“By Love Compelled…at the Hour of Shadows” composed by Stephen Melillo.

7. This IS a Gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
I would like to die in some kind of situation in which I would be a victim—air raid, car crash, poisoning, &c—preferably something that will leave a corpse to bury in the coffin of the next question.

8. What kind of casket would you want?
I would like to sleep forever in a plastic coffin because it would not decay for hundreds of years.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
My stagehand regulation blacks—long-sleeved shirt worn under a short-sleeved shirt, ¾ length pants, knee socks, Chuck Taylors, and fingerless gloves. Or my blue pirate shirt with the aforementioned pants.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
I miss the ability to be selfish without being reprimanded.

11. What's your favorite band?
I prefer classical music over any other music genre. Stravinsky is my favourite composer. However, of the bands to which I occasionally listen, I like U2 the best (Yes, I am aware that they are not Goth at all).

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
I will be in Grade 12 come this fall (2007). In university, I would like to major in Microbiology, with a minor in Creative Writing or Technical Theatre.

13. Why did you join?
Ah, of the multitude of reasons for which I joined, I give you three:
I was researching the Gothic Subculture for a writing-in-process, and I found this website through a Google search. In the course of my research, I realized that I understood the definition of Gothic (though I couldn’t begin to explain it), and I wanted to be a part of something greater than myself. This discovery prompted me to “come out of the coffin” about being Gothic—meaning I told my mother that I related more to the Gothic Subculture over any other group, thus explaining my relatively odd writings. I know that last statement sounds as if I was using the term “Gothic” as an excuse, but as a community of diverse interests, I believe that “Gothic” is the only way to describe myself. I read “Goth with a Sledgehammer” and could answer yes to all of the questions.
I wanted to partake of the “Bone-Chilling Literary Culture” offered on Gnet.
I have been reading Gnet boards for a few months now in order to assess the caliber of this site (I’m not trying to put anyone down!). Recently I had a dream about all the people whose posts I read with some regularity. I think my dream was based on the Great party idea from HumanePain (and others too numerous to mention here). I figured if I was dreaming about Great, then I should take that as a sign and register.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away, what is your gender?
Female—and a hormonally disadvantaged one at that.

Other pertinent information: Yes, my birthday really is Halloween. I was born at 23:57 on a Wednesday.

Hello, dear, welcome to G.Net!

Harlequin, stop that, you're scaring her! And by the way, Big Dave is anything but sexy. And I also think you're not in a position to call others "babybats".

I'm sorry, the-broken-harlequin. I do believe that the little dots in the lower left-hand corner of each post indicate if a person is logged-in to Gnet or not. I was away, cleaning up the remains of a sordid school year (throwing out AP Biology notes).
I do not like Big Dave and I had no idea what you were talking about. That makes me a certifiable "babybat."

To Romantic Raven:
Thank you.

To Methadrine:
About 200. I haven't done a cat census in a few years.

Harlequin, who the devil is Big Dave? He is so not sexy.

Anywho, welcome Undead_Stagehand. When I came here, the only bands I said I liked were The White Stripes, Bjork, and The Smashing Pumpkins. So don't worry about liking U2. :]

[Sorry for this little threadjack Undead_Stagehand]

Yes, I am humanly straight. [I say human for certain reasons. Just go read my post in the bisexual trend]

All the elders used to call me Bjorky. Man, you bring back good memories.

It's OK. It always seems to happen here on Gnet. I think it's fascinating to see how humans move from subject to subject. Wow, that sounds like I'm not human....

Then If you are straight then how do you know he is not sexy?
I can tell...

Just because I'm straight does not mean I cannot define sexy. Sorry Big Dave.

I actually remember telling my mother that I was a goth. I was wrong; I was a baby bat. That would change soon though.

I know; that line in my intro was lame. If I had registered three months ago, I would be even more baby-battish. I guess I came here for a practical education in the Gothic Subculture.

Apparently we (born between 23:00-1:00) can see ghosts!
All I see is Pigeons.
They walk around and don't even know they're pigeons.
