Yeah, I know not much is happening these days
and all the "real people" who truly embraced the spirit of GOTH have left and you have issues with the "fake goths" online these days,

but posting an earnest call to action is fucking humilliating to me, ok. I don't want to do this, but I also only got here recently and I'm not done here just yet.

Please for the love of something somewhere, somebody post something other than spam.

it doesn't have to be anything good- I'd actually welcome some old fart grumbling about how the gnet went to shit, just not spam please.

10 minutes a week to do something or post some unimportant crud nobody cares about is all I'm asking.

because the ammount of spam vs content I'm seeing suggests we're dying - like not "omg, this place is like sooo dead" I mean actually dying.

Yes, I post a lot of um content on the forum...
but I'd honestly rather read someone else's self-absorbed drunken ramblings about any random crud going through their mind at that moment than
advertisements about how there is a product which can apparently make one of my tentacles bigger (I can do that myself without dodgy medicine and I may not have what they claim they can enlarge anyway)

But luckily, the AIs have evolved sentience to the point where they can actually become gothic now. I mean, have you seen Lavarda yet? We lost the ball. Spam bots are undoubtedly the final wave of goth and everything.

Being Goth is an ART, not a science - you can not write a Goth algorithm because there is no definite value for "Goth".
I joked about how all you have to do is get every goth you know to tell you how "unGoth" something is and then paint it black with shiny, pointy bits sticking out and you make something Goth, but in truth, there is more to it than that.

I'm not going to give up and let spambots be more Goth than me because if somebody's going to post tons of extraneous crap nobody cares about or reads here, it's going to be me and not an advertising program. And you too, TrivialMorose, what happened to you posting tons of crap nobody read and wondering if it was you driving everyone away from here?
Goth was dead before it began, it is essentially dead. But it's the kind of dead which says "fuck you, I'm going to be dead if I want!" not "it's all finished, it's pointless, why even try?" that's Doomer, that's Emo, that's not Goth.

Question: TrivialMorose, do you have or have contact with anyone who can rid this beleaguered moribund website of spam?
What would it require for me to get someone to clean it up?

After I have taken my writing career to the point where I am able to survive and or write my own shit for money instead of trashy romance and self-help books published in other people's names, I plan to resume my html, css, javascript acolyte training and I will create an online literary and arts community where the standards are set by members (aside from stuff which would get everyone into trouble like kiddygrinder shit and other stuff like that) - kind of like deviantart only not so focused on IP and more about what the community wants, so if you want shitporn, gods help you, but that will be ok, if you want pink fluffy bunnies to be banned, no pink fluffy bunnies... The idea is that it goes towards actual printed publication, but it's not a business.
When/if, I'll post a link so anyone left is welcome to join. Until then enjoy the spam, it is spurted out of a giant cyber-phallus to glaze your face and mine with offers you can't resist, happy spamsurfing.
