Size 10 is not stick thin, no. However, a lot of women cannot fit into a size 10 dress, so it may be thin in their eyes. Curvier women are not fairly catered for in fashion outlets, so I'm told be curvy women. For example, Size 16 is becoming a more common size amongst quite a few women, so it would be nice if said women were better catered for by fashion outlets.

By sheer coincidence, as I typed the last email, I noticed adverts on the left hand side of the screen for clothes for plus size women and size 16+ women! A strange little coincidence!!! Just goes to show that SOME shops do cater for the fuller figure.

I must be skeletor for being a size five

I work in the ladies wear department and I can never figure out the sizes though, lots of women who come in and ask for a size 16 I never believe they need it, then they try it on and it fits like a glove. I don't have a tape measure either so when people say "I don't know what size I am...what do you think?" I'm always totally off. I always guess lower so they usually are flattered though. I guess the sizes sound big but they really aren't.

Funny you mention that, happened my first day. He was really slim though so it wasn't that much of a hassle.

Ouch!
It's difficult to explain the way things work around here, but to break it down as simply as possible: everyone can be an insulting, childish and immature cockhead at any given time. It's unfair to single out Malice. You yourself are a right cockhead as well, soemtimes.

Sorry, Wraith, the hetrosexual in me got the better of me! Similar posts are usually from females, so I just assumed. Just goes to show that it is wrong to just assume!

And yes, the fuller figure male too can be uncatered for in our thin model obsessed society. (Still, try "Phaze"...you never know.) I felt you asked a perfectly reasonable question and got a somewhat unreasonable response. So I stuck my oar in!

WHAT!? Only sometimes!? LOL!!! (Do we know each other from Sumerland!? lol!!!)

Seriously though, I just felt the comments to a perfectly reasonable question were a bit annoying, so I could not help but stick my big fat hugely opinionated oar in! Still, it got people talking, so it's nice to serve a purpose!

Yes, but there is an enormous difference between being curvy and being morbidly obese.

Please don't use the word "trannie."
It makes you sound like an ignorant twat, especially after calling me childish.
And for your information, a 28" is generally a size 8, 30" about a 10 and etc.
In Britland sizes anyway.

EDIT: thanks Pineapple.

I think the DIY option is probably the best option for you at the moment. However, if you are actually obese as opposed to just being a little overweight [yes, there's a difference], then really what you need to focus on is getting healthy rather than where to find clothes.

That being said, find some black T-shirts in your size, and put the names of your fav bands on the back. Find a pair of pants you like, and sew/iron patches on to them. Etc, etc. =)

Hope this helps! ^_^

I hate the use of the word curvy for fat women. I don't care how big your tits and ass are, if your body doesn't cinch in at the waist then you aren't curvy! Oh and hey don't forget that thin girls can be curvy too, not all of us are little sticks, I for one have a 26" waist and more than ample curves.

I also hate the fact that just about all of the fat women I know wont fucking shut up about what size Marylin Monroe was, they don't seem to be able to get it into their heads that she had very large breasts and hips so she had to fit the widest parts of her and take things in at the waist.

Sorry to rant in this thread and I don't want anyone to think that I have some sort of problem with fat people, I don't, I just have a problem with people who have deluded themselves.

Fat is fat. It's nowhere near the same as curvy and it's stupid to try and defend being overweight with the claim that someones curvy. I can talk, I've been huge. A UK size 24 to be exact and I can tell you now, I wasn't *big and beautiful* I was miserable and unhealthy. I couldn't even get up the stairs without being out of breath. If that's beautiful then damn, I'd rather be thinner, healthier and ugly.

I use the word trannie as a term of endearment!

Dear Miss Cheyenne,

Yes, you are right. (By the way, I AM thin, healthy and ugly! LOL!!! Oh dear!!)

Anyone ever heard the term "Playing Devil's advocate"? I just felt that some individual's responses to what I felt was a reasonable question to ask (where can I buy plus size clothes from?) were rather unkind and a little too brutal. (There's a way of saying things and I felt some posters were being cruel and unkind.) So as ever, I went off on one and had one of my oh so legendary little Devil's Advocate rants! I do like to rant (just ask my fellow Sumerlanders!).

However, despite my usual over-the-top-and-beyond-ignorant-as-fuck comments, I still felt the poster's original posting was a fair one and that other people's comments were a little unkind to say the least.

Rant officially closed, you will all be relieved to hear!

You're an idiot.
Promoting derogatory terms is in no way a form of endearment.
