I've looked under Settings & Options, and then under Edit Options (this is where the FAQ says that it should be) and I don't have anything that lets me add one.

It should be right under the link to edit your avatar, I can't imagine why you wouldn't have that option.

Well, there IS a post requirement to get a signature. I wouldn't be surprised if it is around 350.
