Gothic and Pirate

I am new to the forum, so I don't know whether you will be agreed with my views or not. I really see a vast similarity between the gothic and pirate clothing. Of course, these two fashion trends are entirely different from each other. The pirate trend belongs to the movies like Pirates of the Caribbean featuring Captain Jack Sparrow, or the renaissance age swashbucklers. On the other hand, the the gothic dresses are highly dependent upon the horror movies or novellas. But still, the shades seem highly identical. I think that the match of pirate and gothic will be perfect, if we visit the events like pirate festivals, or the pirate weekends of the renaissance festivals, or the steampunk festivals.
