Ok, I understand that this thread has so far centralised on the issue of banning members (or ex-members before they were banned), but the topic of this thread is 'Forum Policy Development' and I have indeed thought of something to possibly improve the forum..
Unfortunately it isn't a magical remedy that will cure of the insatiable plague of n00bs that continue their descent on to our well-kept forum, i'm still working on that one... (looks longingly at the half-finished n00b mass-enlightenment weapon)

However, I do think it would be a nice feature if we could all view the timestamps for posts made in the forum according to our own time zones... I'm forever seeing posts that were apparently made 4 hours ahead of my current time, and I believe it would be, errm, better...

I know it's physically possible, i'm just curious whether it is a feature that would be worth-while to implement...

oh, is THAT the deal? i thought that every time i posted, i was immediately rendered unconscious and reawakened at a later time with my environment carefully manipulated for it to seem like no time had passed whatsoever, except for the evidence on the computer screen. for some reason, whomever has been experimenting on me always forgot to change the time on the computer.
