I went to see Dresden Dolls last night.

(Aside: The gig was an over 18s only event, no offence to all the pups on this board, but I was so smug as I walked past the emo kids who thought they could get in without ID.)

They have gallons of energy and charisma. Brian Viglione is fox-eh! And he had us all in the palm of his hand throughout the gig.
Amanda did an unaccompanied version of an old Irish song - "Wind that Shakes the Barley" (Dead Can Dance did a version too) - that just bowled me over. To be honest it coaxed a tear to the brink of my eye (which isn't actually hard to do recently!).

Fabulous.

Don't feel too bad. If they don't have enough imagination to talk their way past the doorman, they don't deserve it. I mean, they're not exactly tough on ID in the UK - it isn't difficult to get in places underage with some make-up and a cool exterior.

Of course, I've never been to Ireland, so maybe it's tougher over there and I'm slandering its youth unfairly. *ponders*

These kids were too obviously underage, bouncy around and screaming as they were.

Under 18s should be in bed by 9pm, resting their growing brains. :P

But seriously I think that kids "these days" should slow down their attemps to be adults... They have the rest of their fucking miserable lives to be disillusioned. I was definitely a child until I was 18. I never drank, smoked, did drugs, fought with my parents, etc. etc. until I was 18. And I'm glad of it. I'm having a hell of a time doing it now.

I am still in classes learning how to do to my new job for a few more weeks. Today my soon-to-be supervisor came to speak to my class about performance reviews and expectations. He said (and I quote), "It is important that we use well grammer in all of our communications." It was so damned hard to keep a straight face. I mean, WTF?

Nope! I still talk like that. Although, these days I mostly do it to amuse my new Texas friends.

Yes, and it was a supervisor at that. I know I have some skills to learn, but at least on the grammer front, I believe I can get his job! Ha ha ha!

Well, I certainly plan to advance. Takeover? Just today I read about a guy who has been employed continuously through the various legacy companies and buyouts for forty years, after starting with one of the baby Bells in 1966. He's now president of the Northeast Region. So this Takeover might take a while!

Quick Random: I work for a pretty cool company that really takes care of their employees with a lot of amazing benefits, but they use some cheap-ass sandpaper for toilet paper in their bathrooms!

I am currently sprawled out very happily on a large comfy bed while watching Ghost Hunters and not wearing pants. How's that for celebrating the end of a stressful day?
