Hello, I'm Salmiakki.

Hello everyone...

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I'm currently still at school. I do enjoy cooking, playing my keyboard and learning Finnish in my spare time, though. I started singing lessons a while back but I discontinued: I really couldn't stand the sound of my own voice! When I was young(er!) I loved writing stories, but only I shall ever read those...

2. Where are you from?
Originally Chesterfield, but now I live in Suffolk, UK.

3. Who is your favorite author?
Poe, Lovecraft, Tolkien and slightly more lighthearted Terry Pratchett.

4. What are your favorite films?
I like virtually all types of film from animated comedy to splatter-gore. The only films that I'm really not into are the old war films with the Germans and their stereotype moustaches and the ever-so-clever British Generals. My favourite films are probably the 'Wallace and Gromit' ones - the evil penguin, the machine on the moon and the robo-dog used to (and still do) scare the hell out of me!

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
A song that doesn't go anywhere, played on semi-acoustic guitars and that big chimey-thing they have in the orchestras (can't remember what it's called)

6. At your funeral?
Something uplifting.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
I've never really thought about this before. If a nuclear war started and there was very little chance of survival then I'd get to somewhere rural away from news and technology, live for as long as fate allowed, and die in peace. I'm not sure if that answers the question...

8. What kind of casket would you want?
Just realised the flaw in my plan; there probably wouldn't be anyone around to bury me...but a plain one made from local wood would suffice - it's only going to be sitting in the ground, after all.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
It's not my ideal outfit, but my favourite clothes that I own are black corded flares and a three-quarter length sleeved lace up top.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Being able to do what I want all day long.

11. What's your favorite band?
Please, don't make me choose just one! The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Joy Division, London After Midnight, Cruxshadows, Project Pitchfork, New Model Army and a few metal bands such as Therion.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
I'm in secondary school, and I'm not in my last year yet so I still don't have a real idea of what I'm going to do next.

13. Why did you join?
Gothic.net is an active, (mostly) literate forum populated by some very intelligent people.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Female.

Well, I can't bring to mind any other interesting information so there's my introduction

Thanks for welcoming me! And yes, after some research I found that those chimey things are actually called chimes.

Salmiakki, the candy. I've never tried the drink, apparently it's quite expensive and virtually impossible to find here in the UK...I've heard that Finns occasionally try to home-make it by dissolving the candy in vodka...but I just love the word And DarkHeartedDemoness, go ahead.

Welcome. And you mean that all Germans DON'T have gigantic curlicue moustaches?! I mean, you seem like a nice person and all, but you've totally shattered my image of Germans as a whole. Thanks a LOT. I bet that next you'll be telling me that they don't all wear coal scuttle helmets and march around to the tune of Deutschland Uber Alles!

As much as She has done, I don't think that the Goddess would have blessed me that much. Heh.

It's okay, HP, Rammstein sucks anyways.

BUT!
If you like NDH (The genre of music Rammstein is, albeit Rammstein being the worst of it's kind), I really recommend the band Unheilig. Their best songs are probably Eva and Maschine. ^^

NDH, Neue Deutsche Härte, is basically a fusion of electronics and metal from Germany. Yes, it must be from Germany. :P

Off the top of my head, I can list Unheilig, OOMPH!, Eisbrecher and Megaherz.

I especially reccommend OOMPH! and Unheilig.

One of my favorite bands, Die Krupps, is technically NDH, but rather than coming from hard rock/metal with strong synths, it evolved from strong synths to a more metal-based sound.

You'd do good to check out Wikipedia.
