X-mal Deutschland, Dresden Dolls/ Katzenjammer Kabarett (they're Dark Cabaret, but good nonetheless), Danse Society, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Play Dead, Ausgang, The Birthday Party, Theatre of Hate, Rubella Ballet, Blood and Roses, Bomb Party, March Violets, 1919, New Model Army, UK Decay, Jene Loves Jezebel, Flesh For Lulu, Southern Death Cult, Sex Gang Children, Twisted Nerve, Bone Orchard, The Cramps (a gothabilly band with great lyrics; I love'em to death), Balaam and the Angel, Adam and the Ants, Echo and the Bunnymen, Nico, Aztec Camera, Spandau Ballet... umm, that's what I can think of of the top of my head. Not all of these might be considered gothic in the strictest of senses, but all are great!

Just trying to cover some that Minyaliel didn't put in.

Death Cult
Skeletal Family
Fahrenheit 451
The Naked and the Dead
Kommunity FK
Screams for Tina
Alien Sex Fiend
Specimen (tisk tisk Minyaliel you missed the two other main Batcave bands. )
Cinema Strange
The Deadfly Ensemble
Bloody Dead & Sexy
Burning Image
45 Grave
Virgin Prunes
Ex Voto

And a question for Minyaliel: How good is 1919 and are they worth waiting a million years for they're album to come from amazon.com?

Well, I like their music and would definitely wait any required amount of time for their album if I only could afford it. :P I don't know whether you've heard any of their music, so it's hard to say; they don't sound like they're trying to imitate anybody, which is a great plus in my book. I haven't heard their latest music, though - I really need soulseek up and going again so that I can get some samples.

I havn't heard anything by them, but I have heard that they're good. Everytime I'm on amazon.com I always come across their one Anagram Goth Collectors album and I sit there pondering on if I want to get it or not, but I always put it off.

Before people start lecturing me on why I shouldn't download these bands, I have y reasons

1. I'm in an area where there isn't a music store that sells alternitave music for miles and miles
2. I have no credit card to buy from Amazon.com
3. Downloading is free =D

How is it possible no one has named Collide or Emilie Autumn yet??? You NEED those.

Jarlba the Hut, you can always have music stores special order cds for you. I haven't been to one yet that isn't willing to do so.

YES they're worth waiting for. They're heavy, tribal gothic rock... just really, heavy and intense, passionate. Listen to "After the Fall" and you'll see why.

Yeah, those are my reasons too.
That, and I don't want to spend hard-earned money on a CD if I'm only going to like one track from it, so I want to hear it in full before deciding to buy it.

Looks interesting, thanks. Does it have a good selection of songs? Because on Limewire there's a lot of gothic bands that don't have one song avalible to download u_u and even more don't have enough sources.

I just got a couple of songs by Collide and Emilie Autumn and I love them! thank you for recommending them, I especially love La Folia by Emilie Autumn, it's a very poetic sound which is useful for my poetry writing, stirs up romance in my heart and life in my pen!

Actually you can special order from target. You should try it before you say that you can't.

SLSK is about 10 times better than slsk, of course it may take you a minute to figure out how to use it properly.

Check out Saturnus - Matryre

I suggest you buy or ebay it, it's an amazing album.

And SLSK is a great downloader, but it keeps freezing on my computer for some reason.

But I managed to get NIN's album Year Zero off it so I'm happy.

yeah, I like them a lot too, especially their songs Black Sun and Symphony of the Dead, and those bands on that list weren't strictly goth or industrial or anything, I was going to go as far as to include Muse in there o.o

Now THAT, is funny.

By the way, has anyone noticed that Emelie Autumn is more synonymous with hip hop or R&B than goth rock? You know, with the dominant flair of Hip Hop drum licks and soulful R&B styled vocals. She must be totally goth with the mime make up, violin, and shredded stockings.
