Great Grandmother's Ring

Good eve, everyone. I was looking through my jewelry for something "festive" to wear around my family tonight, and I found my great grandmother's ring. It’s a really beautiful white gold piece with a high set single diamond. My "Gigi" died four years ago tomorrow (Christmas) and I thought it fitting to wear the ring tonight.

The only problem is that the ring only fits correctly on my left ring finger, like an engagement ring. I don't feel it’s appropriate to wear the ring there, but I know my Gigi wanted me to be able to enjoy it. Now I'm in a bit of a pickle. Should I get the ring resized, or should I leave it as she meant me to have it?

I'm sure she would want you to enjoy it in comfort. I don't see anything wrong with getting it sized, it's not like you're changing the style of it.

If she wanted you to be able to enjoy it, I think she wouldn't mind if you got it re-sized. Especially if you're doing it to honor her, as you said.

I agree, resizing the ring only allows you to enjoy it better. If you're truly worried about having it resized, you could always wear it around your neck on a nice chain.

I say get it resized or get a simple white gold chain so that you can wear it around your neck

I think that you should get it resized. I'm sure your great grandmother would like to you wear it. I don't think that it would cause it any damage.
