I'm aware of that. I was just being sarcastic. Sometimes being a prep can be a lifestyle. Mostly, it is a fashion choice, but most choose that fashion to wear permenently. Otherwise, wouldn't goth and punk be just a fashion choice?

Really, I've never actually met a prep like the ones you see on TV. I knew a girl who sort of dressed like that, but she was also into making sculptures of very....interesting things, and spent most of her free time in the studio.

I just thought it was mainstream dress for people who don't care one way or the other, not an actual social group.

But for some reason, my hackles raise whenever I smell an attention whore using suicide as a means of fame.

Now why is that, I wonder? What could it be? Oh, I know! It's because when I was in ninth grade, my best friend OD'd and came within ten minutes of getting what she wanted! Or maybe it was my friend in J/S year who was cutting, then seemed to stop, to my great relief because her eating disorder was bad enough, but it turned out she was just doing it on her legs instead! Maybe it's just too personally painful for me to even be fake-nice!
