"Let me sum up Einsteinian religion in one more quotation from Einstein himself: 'To sense that behind anything that can be experienced there is a something that our mind cannot grasp and whose beauty and sublimity reaches us only indirectly and as a feeble reflection, this is religiousness. In this sense I am religious.' In this sense I too am religious, with the reservation that 'cannot grasp' does not have to mean 'forever ungraspable'. But I prefer not to call myself religious because it is misleading. It is destructively misleading because, for the vast majority of people, 'religion' implies 'supernatural'.

Carl Sagan put it well: '. . . if by "God" one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying . . . it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity.'

End Quote.

- Dawkins (2006)

In other words, he was a Pantheist. Presumably.

I appreciate the rest of your quotes, but the most significant quote, that rings the most solemn and rings the longest throughout my 50 years is this one you posted CircleV. I am certain I will suffer this to the end of my days.

Yes, it is very existential. I feel this often too. It reminds me of Sartre's affirmation that

"Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does."

Mine are from H.P. Lovecraft.

"Heaven knows where I'll end up - but it's a safe bet that I'll never be at the top of anything! Nor do I particularly care to be."

"We shall see that at which dogs howl in the dark, and that at which cats prick up their ears after midnight."

And the other is in my signature.

"Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate,
but that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."

Nelson Mandela is one of the greatest diplomats ever and is my idol. So seriously, he wasn't so much a hypocrite as he was acting for the good of his people.

Here are some funny ones from my school:

"Get out of the picture, David, you stupid whore!" - my friend (this was during our photo shoot. Haha)

"Don't listen to what I say! Listen to what I should have said!" - my teacher

"If the equation to the universe is x+9, then the answer is x." - me

Something I learned in Algebra 2, the hard way. x + 9 = x is impossible to solve because it's undefined. In a way, so is the universe.

Ah, my favorite quote ever has been:

"...But one day when I was working with my prototype, it broke and I said to my husband, "I know it's just a doll, but still, it makes me sad. I can't help but feel as if I'm the one who hurt it. Even though I know it's just a toy...I know that it's not alive...why do I feel sad about it? Why should I feel anything for it, be it happy or sad?"
Then he said to me, "It's only natural. Even if they aren't alive, you are. You care because you're alive--because you have a heart.""

- Chobits by CLAMP

because I like dolls ^_^

Most of my friends think of me as very childish, the tiny baby in the group and they think of me as the nicest person they've ever met. I care about everyone and everything, but maybe it's just because of my youth.

My favourite quotes are the following:

"And my soul from out the shadow that lies floating on the floor shall be lifted? Nevermore!" - E. A. Poe (L O V E!!! )

"Live now, die whenever, f*ck it!" - Chad Ginsburg

"I'll do whatever the f*ck I want!" - Bam Margera

"All flesh is grass and all its beauty like the flower of the field : the grass withers, the flower fades. We men are wretched things, and the gods who have no care themselves, have woven sorrow into the very pattern of our lives" - The Powers of Evil (I can't remember where I found this one, but I liked it anyway!)

“You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named 'Bush', 'Dick', and 'Colon.' Need I say more?” - Chris Rock

“I love hearts. They are symbols for life, love and humanity.” - Ville Valo (HIM)

"I have given up on love several times, love unfortunately doesn't give up on me." - Ville Valo (HIM)

“He loves to sit and hear me sing, then, laughing, sports and plays with me; then stretches out my golden wing, and mocks my loss of liberty.” - William Blake

"And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea -
What are all these kissings worth,
If thou kiss not me?" - Percy Shelley

"I shall be telling this with a sigh,
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference." - Robert Frost

"Forever trust in who we are
And nothing else matters" - Metallica-"Nothing else matters"

That would be all...! Sorry for the length of my reply, but all those quotes describe me in more than one ways...

I know it's been a while, but how can x+9=x?
x+9= x+9!
x is undefined but has already been used as a variable. It can't algebraically stand for two numbers, which happens if you define it both as x and as nine numbers more than x
