I don't think either of them are on as much as Ophelia, but they would be good too.

Yeah I think Ophelia is the best bet (though Jillian wouldn't be a bad choice either), even though she can be a bit of a bitch sometimes I just don't see her abusing any power, and she certainly is on quite frequently.

I could definitely see you running around changing people's names and blocking people as pranks.

I was thinking Jillian is a good idea too but he's not on nearly as often. He can pull the night shift though XD And yeah I can't see Ophelia becoming mad with power.

If you ask me, I'll suggest HumanePain or ...Duane.
Because of their perspective remain unaltered before and after most of the conversations... acculturations (?) and arguements.
Ophelia expresses things too straight.
And sometimes it's harsh for those who didn't know her or don't understand her.
Jillian haven't got that much time, as I believe, he's in a college, isn't he ?

I adore HP but he has a tendency to protect certain members of the boards so while I think he would mean well I think there would be some problems.

I agree with Cpt Sternn, about things getting off-topic and about having a moderator, or a 'troll patrol.' I agree with having Ophie or Solumina (or both to kind of balance each other out). I think Jilly would be good because he is right 'on target' and has a lot of integrity going on. GM would be excellent, because he doesn't take 'flack' off of people, but he can be harsh at times. My best bet would be MollyMac, because she just 'hits the nail on the head', and gets on with life.

MollyMac isn't on nearly enough for moderator, and Jillian really isn't on enough either.
We should probably have a few, so some are online while others are offline.

If they have a few I wouldn't mind being one, I know I'm not on every day but I would like to think that I would be a fair mod.
I also agree about Molly

Sorry, just saw this now. You know me too well XD Though I wouldn't block anybody for kicks, the temptation to change people's user titles just to see how long it would take for them to notice would prove too great.
But I don't think mods have that kind of power, I think I remember EPS saying stuff like "I sent the request for banning to the admin", so they probably can't ban, the most I've seen them do is move posts around and censor them if they were really bad. Which was great, so no one can go banning at a whim.

Just thought of LaBelleDame. She's fair, on 'target' and has good grammar skills.

I find it amusing that goth Ophelia & Molly have been mentioned as good moderators, I've often thought their interactions together were very similar to how EPS & Wolfmoon used to interact, in some ways.

I don't think anyone on here is objective enough to be a moderator.
Anyway, it's not that hard to ignore a shitty thread. Unless idiots will insist on verbally sparring with trolls; not only does this increase the thread's longevity, but the kind of person dumb enough to engage with someone whose specific goal is to annoy them is usually intellectually inferior to the troll itself.

I think if anyone should be mod, then someone that has been here a decent amount of time and isn't biased.

It's impossible to participate and not be biased. I don't think members can achieve complete neutrality.
Then again, I don't see the need for mods at all.

I think the sole need of mods as it is at the moment is just to keep the trolls out.

If people quit trying to show off about how clever they are by posting different varients of "you're stupid" for 7-8 pages after a troll starts a thread, they would become bored and leave. Stupidity is not a good reason for introducing an authority that wouldn't be needed if members could just quit picking at scabs. That's my take.

Ahhhh... I miss EPS and Wolfie. I still hump Wolfie's leg from time to time. I am on here enough to mod, but I'd rather epilate my snatch. It hurts the same and accomplishes more.
But frankly and to the point- the old moderators did not exactly have mod powers so much as more direct contact with the admin/owners... so well, what was the point? If you learn to be self moderating (either have the will power to ignore someone or just be a puss and use the ignore function) and also report anything illegal (i.e. the borderline child porn crap a few years back), then "official mods" are irrelevant.

Agreed. Everyone who has been mentioned as a potential mod has friends here. So you either say none of the members (outsource the mod job), or you accept that the mods have friends.

Didn't we have something like a mod in DirtNap?
& Molly, you don't like a lil hurt in your epilation?
