I rather enjoyed Louisiana when I visited... Of course, being on vacation and devoid of responsibility puts a shine on just about anything.

Smack bang in a town called Gloucester. Gloucester in United Kingdom. Full of scallies and rubbish in the streets for miles and miles. Born in a village near County Clare, called Doolin. Hence my surname.

ok...
*scratched head*
i was born in Chicago, IL.
moved when i was 3 yrs. old to..
Indianapolis, IN.
moved from there, minus family, a week after my 18th birthday to...
Winnsboro, LA.
been here for going on 2 years...
it's a small town, full of close-minded church-freaks.. i don't fit in in the least.. which is really a good thing. i'd have to hang myself, if i did.
i used to think Indianapolis was bad, and that i'd love to be anywhere else... but.. heh, i've had a change of mind. Indianapolis isn't looking so bad these days. at least it was a City! i can't stand small towns....

BodNoirBabe, people do read these and do care. There is a lot going on in these forums and coupled with the slow loading times it can take people a lot of time just to check in on threads they are a part of... let alone new threads or threads they aren't actually involved in.
I think you are doing well, making friends and fitting in, but please don't worry too much if people don't respond or reference to things you post. We are all still getting to know you and have a lot of 'ongoing' stuff.
One of the resident cuties, Eso, has a story or two about 'responses' here.

WOW! That is AMAZING! I too am in Goose Creek. Though, before you said that, I would NEVER admit it to anyone! I usually just say, Charleston. It sounds less.... hickville(?)
I have lived in Santa Cruz, CA and loved it. I will be leaving GC one day, and I hope to go somewhere far away.

I had a granny in Cheraw, SC. Frankly, though it may not be a teriffically fashionable state, South Carolina really is lovely.

Maimy, you are correct.
SC is a lovely place, especially Charleston. It has beautiful architecture and is very historic, and I guess, just like any place, if I could remove all the closed-minded racist people and all terrible daily issues (I tend to associate this place with most of the traumtic events of my life), it would be a great place to stay. Who knows, maybe one day, I will want to come back here and live for good. I doubt it though.
